Magnum P.I. - The Complete Series [DVD]

The disks have 6 episodes on each one. They come in paper sleeves rather than rigid cases or plastic "jewel cases". However, while I haven't played all the series yet, the disks do appear to be in good condition and pictures are clear. I play mine on a large projection screen, so I think the movies are better than they were on my TV years ago. After meeting Tom Selleck a few days ago and hearing him talk about playing Magnum along with back stories, I decided to "binge watch" this series and have not been disappointed! This package even includes 2 episodes of The Rockford Files which I had forgotten he even played in. (BTW, he and "Higgins" really were good friends! And if you are a big Tom Selleck fan, get his new book, "You Never Know".)

We've only watched five episodes so far, everything seems to be fine, great resolution color and sound. For us hard of hearing people the titles work great. So far very happy.

Initially I was scared to buy this set..... my UK set had these same shows stretched across 37 blu ray discs and this having only 30 means a lot of compression had to take place. First watch also revealed that the opening pilot was cut into two episodes on the Mill Creek set.... so I began the comparison thinking I'd made a huge mistake..... and then SHOCK.... even though this new set has many discs with far more content , it is a HUGE upgrade in color timing from the existing UK set!!! sampling around I find the colors so much richer and in general pleasing to the eye. Skin tones, eye colors, sky color ... in general this set makes you dream of Hawaii, the previous set makes you hardly notice. Kudos! This is a complete upgrade in the best way and I'm happy to re discover this classic series! Would I have loved an interview with ANY of the lead actors or even long running support actors.. sure... but this fantastic series, rich colors... better than expected sharpness in a handsome package for a bit over a hundred dollars... 5 STARS!

It's Magnum PI so you know it's great!! Now do I wish I could have like 1 DVD a season ya but it was a way better price than buying it on streaming.

I grew up watching Magnum PI in the 1980's and Thursday night was a required tv viewing for me. It had a great cast, Tom Selleck played Magnum as a somewhat funny, flawed character at times, who had a great heart and tried to the right thing. How they treated the Vietnam vets with dignity and respect was one of the things that stood out to me even back then. The show wasn't perfect and some episodes didn't hit the mark, but overall it was a beloved series that should have went on a couple more seasons. Tom Selleck didn't want to play Magnum any further and the series sadly ended in the spring of 1988. Since then I tried watching it on reruns over the years when you could find it playing, but it was edited for too many commercials. I bought some of the DVD's when they first came out 15 years ago, but they were poor quality and not sold in a complete set. For Christmas, I decided to treat myself to this complete set on Blu Ray and I'm loving the trip back in time. The picture quality is great and I've been watching it regularly. If you love classic tv shows like this, you can't go wrong.

The original Magnum PI is one of the great shows. From before TV too itself to serious. There are some episodes that get more serious, but most are simply fun. I am into the second season, and so far, everything is playing well. Picture quality is good.

Love the show and great to see actors from other shows pop in from time to time. Packaging is on cardboard so easy to put back in order instead of the plastic cages.

One of the best TV series of the 80s, maybe even the best. Packed in a weak cardboard package that started to fall apart as soon as I removed the plastic. The discs were placed in so-called cardboard pockets, 2 discs per pocket, so there are many of those pockets and they easily spread out of the package. And let me mention that even though the title of the product says region code free, at least the box I got is the region code 1 version.

Magnum PI is a favourite series of mine, and I love watching these DVDs

+ Worth every penny when it's half the price + Great slip case and high quality boxes - Region A for a product sold in Europe was not expected, playable on my European PS5 fat though - It's a shame it didn't come with other subtitles besides English since other audio tracks were not present

Came in short order and was packaged well. Great improvement in quality of picture from DVD set which I have too. But alas the first disc of the 8th season had a little nick or cut and the first episode of that season wouldn't play. So had to return and order a second time. Easy returns. Would highly recommend.
