Extremely expensive grease that specializes in rust inhibition more than lubrication
Extremely expensive grease that specializes in rust inhibition more than lubrication. For cyclists, ONYX hubs require this grease for their sprag clutch mechanism. It also seems like a great grease for ratchet mechanisms inside hubs where you don't necessary add lubricant but you want something to keep things smooth and corrosion free. I have no personal experience with the Shimano Freehub grease but I have read it is a lighter grease than their Special grease. This is a slightly lighter grease as well so I have been using it for freehubs and it has been treating me well. I have also used this to rebuild my Ratchets and it has been holding up great. My Snap On feels extremely smooth with no binding as well as easy switching between the rotating direction.

Needed for onyx vesper hubs
Need this grease, very specifically, for the Onyx Vesper hubs on my mountain bike. Not much to say, other than its highly overpriced grease. I'm not sure what's so special about the chemical composition or the raw materials that go into making this, but its roughly $10 and ounce.
