A friend of mine introduced me to these types of replacement wheels for my office chair. Well, it's my garage chair, but it's the heavy duty STEELCASE office type chair. The plastic double wheels had started to fall apart and were becoming a real pain. He showed me the wheels he got for his chairs, and I immediately knew I needed some. These things fit perfectly as I'd hoped since I didn't pull one and measure the original first to make sure. Each one popped out with a flat blade screwdriver and these snapped right in. Took about ten minutes to do the full swap, and most of that time was removing each wheel from the sealed bag they came in individually. The easy part was done. Now to test them out. Wow! Like really, WOW! These things roll.. I mean the roll like as if you were on rollerblades racing! Huge difference between friction fitment plastic wheels on steel posts and these urethane rubber wheels with ball bearings! Being that my chair is used on a concrete garage floor, there's like no resistance and the thing just glides! So much in fact that due to the grading of the floor, the chair just rolls away when I get up if I don't slide it under the workbench.. I can only imagine an office full of chairs with these wheels! Chair racing would be a real thing, count on it. I'm really impressed with the quality of the product and how much smoother the chair rolls around. So much in fact, I'll be replacing the wheels on my in home office chair with them as well. We can see how they do on carpeted floors. Very happy with my purchase, that's for sure and would recommend these to anyone. Especially if you have hardwood or tile flooring you want to protect from scratches and damage, which the urethane wheels definitely will help with. And they'd be quiet!

We have hard floors and in the past our office chairs have done serious damage to laminate. I tried several different options for floor mats and even then bits of dirt were getting under the mat and scratching up the floors. It was really frustrating to try so hard to protect them and see them just keep getting worse. New floors now, and we were absolutely determined to find a way. My husband did some research and found these. Previously I could hear the plastic wheels of his chair actually grinding the dirt into the floor. These are almost silent. They roll smooth as butter. Sometimes they roll a tiny bit too easy and I have to hold my chair in place. So far, 2 1/2 months in, I see absolutely no signs of damage to the floors. Please note that we have office chairs for everyone in the house plus one additional one. We use them for school, work, and games. And we think these are so great that we have replaced the wheels of every single office chair with these. I swear to you, the chair is even more comfortable to sit on. I think these add a little bit of extra cushion. I don't know how they behave on carpet but they are absolutely awesome for hard floors. They were quite easy to install as well. It took me perhaps five minutes total for each chair.

What a difference. Like riding in a Cadillac! Rolls with ease compared to the old plastic wheels with flat spots!!

You will wonder why you didn’t change those miserable old casters years ago. Easy to install (though removing the old casters on an old chair proved rather difficult.) That chair is humming around the kitchen linoleum now! No marking on floor, just smooth cruising. On my carpeted floor the wheels roll just fine when I’m not sitting in the chair. It’s a semi-shag rug so I’m not surprised. I imagine a flat office carpet would be much better for joy riding. So I stand and move the chair, good exercise! Eventually I’ll try a floor mat which will be much better. Very pleased with my choice. I watched a YouTube video for advice, found it very helpful. A dab of WD40 on the stems and the leg attachment holes made everything easier. I sprayed a little on the old casters too since it was very difficult to pull them free. Finally removed old casters with a long flat blade screwdriver and gripping pliers, installed new with a one inch diameter dowel a few inches long and a hammer. The dowel protects the roller base and gives just the right spot to strike your blow and seat the stem. Then off to the races! I do have experience with tools but I think other 70 yr old DIYers should be able to do this too. Actually hardest part was flipping the chair over to get to the legs!

I installed these on a chair I've had for over 3 years and it made a huge difference. The wheels are quiet and roll very smoothly. I feel like these are much more gentle on my plank flooring than my old wheels. Now I have to buy some for my GF's chair too. I took away a star. When I received the first order, the box had clear tape at every seam. There were no instructions and no other packaging. (I just thought this was how it came normally) When I received the second order, there was no tape on the box, each wheel was in it's own plastic bag, and there was a small instruction book and thank you card. It's obvious the first order was somebody's return. It was sent as if it was new and no discount was given for sending me a used product. The wheels still work fine and I would recommend them. Just be wary of getting a used product when you thought you were buying a new one.

Not happy They are a cheap wheel, and not all wheels go in same direction and cause you to damage the floor and most snap out of the chair? The rubber nice but let down by faulty metal directional part. Shame
