Just a suggestion for anyone buying this item, You can color code for place value with this mat by having students color the representations, then write the value in the same color. After doing this, we laminated and students love having their own copy they can write on with dry erase markers. This is one of the most useful tools my 2nd graders have for learning place value and it works!
