Q: Getting a 20lb curl bar, Im 185lb. How much weight should I start out w/ for curls?

Since you only list your weight and not your height and bodyfat, I cannot give an accurate number. I would suggest with a 20lb bar, getting a pair of 2.5 // 5 // 10 lb weights. This will give you a range of 20 lbs (bar only) up to 55 lbs. Further, this gives you the flexibility to increase weight by 5 lbs at a time when needed. If the total cost of that is too expensive, I'd recommend getting Bowflex adjustable weight systems. Long term they are less expensive, more flexible for various muscle groups, and have dumbbell and barbell options. Best of luck with your fitness goals!

Q: Is this a single plate or a pair for purchase?

The ones I purchased were a set of plates totaling 260lb. It has 2-45lb, 2-35lb, 2-25lb, 2-15lb, and 2-10lb plates.

Q: Do the 10 lb plates bend/taco when used alone? I need them for technique training.

They have a little flex but they do not bend or taco. Unless perhaps if they are repeatedly dropped at a weird angle repeatedly. I’ve used them with an Olympic bar to warm up on rows and they have maintained there shape.

Q: Dose it come with 2 plates?

It depends on your selection. They can come in sets of 2. Just look at the option before adding it to your cart. I believe it’s displayed as “*2” - which means there’s 2 plates.

They must have been sitting on their side for a while. Arrived warped, so I had to put another weight on top to fix it
