This reading comprehension workbook has helped my child so much. The stories are interesting and not overly long and are perfect to help prepare for reading comprehension tests.

We homeschool and I love the spectrum sets. I did first grade last year and they seemed to cover most of the bases. I have purchased a few for second grade this year and look forward to using them. Books are sturdy. They held up for the whole year. They were easy to read and understand. My daughter actually enjoyed them. I highly recommend if you're looking for supplemental materials or super simple curriculum for basic homeschool

The Spectrum Grade 2 Reading workbook from IXL has been a great addition to our small group learning. The stories are engaging without being overwhelming, which is perfect for second graders and struggling 3rd graders who are building confidence in reading. It includes a nice mix of fiction and nonfiction passages, and the questions really help kids practice finding the main idea and key details. We are homeschooling one of our children this year, and bought this to help build his reading comprehension. I like how each story faces the corresponding questions on the opposite page. The stories are short and engaging. The level of questions are challenging without being overly so. We've been working through this so far as part of our Language Arts studies and are really happy with it! Will be back for the next level!

I use this workbook for my 2nd grade small group instruction. Each passage has a specific skill it focuses on. The passage could be fiction or nonfiction. I can complete a passage and skill questions within my short amount of time. There are such a great mix of topics. One of my favorite parts is each skill has an ID that can be put into IXL.com. If a student continues to struggle after our time in up, they can use their Chromebook to head directly to the IXL skill that matches. This workbook is simple to use, kid-friendly, and fits right into my small-group routines. Great resource for 2nd grade teachers, parents/guardians, or homeschoolers looking for reading skills to practice.

If you are second grade teacher like myself that is using IXL for the first time this year, please look at this booklet! This year my school is using IXL for the first time. Which also means I need to find resources for small group that will help my students with specific skills that IXL says they need. All I have to do is look through the booklet to find specific resources that go with the skill set they need to work on. This has definitely been a time saver!
