This is an amazing microphone at $75. I would not pay $150 for it, but $75 is a hard price to beat for the quality you receive. It is a warmer sounding mic with a narrow pickup window. It is plug and play with almost any XLR unit. This mic WILL require 48v phantom power. This would make a great podcasting, recording, and/or Discord mic. Its metal body and mic mesh cover all feel high quality.

I highly recommend this microphone to anyone who wants to dip into the higher end sound spectrum for their content creation. I'm a content creator for YouTube and I stream. This microphone is great for my voice. My voice is kind of unique in that I have a bassy mid-tone voice which allows me to pic up almost any mic and my voice will require minimum eq. This mic is FANTASTIC at picking up my low and mid tones. It gives a very pleasing warmth (think radio announcer) with great presence to my voice. Just remember that microphones are better suited to different tones of voice. I read somewhere that this mic is best suited for the low and mid toned voices. One important thing to note is that I use a GOXLR Mini for my interface which is pretty much has the best preamp on the market and provides premium quality sound. Blue Spark SL + GOXLR Mini is a match made in heaven. It has made a huge difference in my work flow as I don't have to waste time in post processing my voice overs. I record and go straight into post video editing.

Great sound, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Opened the box, hooked everything up and noticed the switch for 0 and -20 db just flops around. The db switch is literally just chilling, no click or nothing. I can push the switch in and pull it out, its being held in place by some stretchy material. The dp switch does not function, No change in sound or quality. However I am still happy with the microphone. I am not sure what dp setting the microphone is "set" at since its just sliding around. Once I get a moment I'll update this review with a video showing the issue from my phone.

I am very happy with my purchase. The build quality is awesome, and it's relatively easy to use right out of the box if you already have an interface to hook it up to. Easy functionality with the two switches for the -20 dB pad and the high bypass filter work well. I love the size of the microphone itself, it's perfect for a more compact setup.

Took first 15 minutes of testing on my equipment to realize that this mic is fantastic. I have racks of pro gear that make this simple mic into a noiseless deep spread of capabilities. Yes the real time processing of my rig is the icing, but this mic is exactly what I was looking for. Standard, referenced and small footprint. Logitech made a mistake discontinuing the blue line. And originally blue made a mistake selling out. Glad I got a piece of history before they are gone forever. Wish I could afford the original tube bottle. Wow what a treasure.

Blue has always made great sounding microphones and the Spark SL is no exception. It's a great microphone that will cut out a lot of ambient noise with its -20dB pad and cardioid pattern. Has been a joy to use in video calls.

No es un micrófono de alta gama, pero es muy superior a muchos micros del mercado que he probado, aparte me encanta su forma, ofrece un aspecto vintage muy atractivo, a la vez que tiene un grato registro de sonido. Recomiendo no dirigirlo directamente a la boca, es decir que tu voz apunte de manera leve hacia un lateral, así evitas las explosivas y ruidos molestos. Ten presente que la gracia de este micro es su forma, colocar un filtro de espuma en la cabeza o pantalla circular sería matar completamente su imagen, para eso buscate otro modelo. El filtro -20 db ayuda mucho a reducir el ruido ambiental, si a ello le sumas el filtro de ruido del OBS por ejemplo, podrás grabar en una habitación sin tratamiento acústico (como es mi caso) y aún así obtener buen resultado. Por mi parte estoy muy contento. La araña que trae hace un buen trabajo, la tengo en un brazo El Gato, y el conjunto va muy bien. La caja de madera para guardarlo es un buen toque pero algo incómoda para cargar, no es un micro para andar por allí transportandolo, es un aparato para dejar en el estudio.

Für meine ersten Voice-Over fing ich vor gut 3 Jahren mit dem Blue Snowball an - eine möglichst einfache Bedienung sollte durch eine gute Tonqualität ergänzt werden. Doch wie das immer so ist, steigen mit der Zeit die eigenen und auch die Ansprüche der Kunden was die Tonqualität angeht. Begeistert von Blue stand für mich fest, dass es wieder Blue werden sollte - natürlich trotzdem noch ein zwei RODE Mikros getestet - aber die Klangfarbe, die Verarbeitung und das Design sprachen für mich eine ganz eindeutige Sprache. Verarbeitung: Die Verpackung alleine ist schon der Hammer, eine Box in Kirsch-Holzoptik transportiert das Spark SL Blackout. Dazu gibts auch gleich die Spinne, die wie das Mikrofon selbst perfekt verarbeitet sind. Die Schieberegler rasten ordentlich ein, die Metalle fühlen sich wahnsinnig gut an und das Gewicht trägt zu einem massiv-positiven ersten Eindruck bei. Natürlich braucht man dafür auch einen ordentlichen Mikrofon-Arm oder ein stabiles Tischstativ. Bei mir ist es dieses hier geworden, das ich nur weiterempfehlen kann: Samson MD5 Mikrofon Tischstativ Zusatzfunktionen: Betrieben wird das Blue bei mir an einem iMac und ist per Scarlett 2i2 Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 (2G) USB-Audio-Interface mit Pro Tools angeschlossen. Softwareseitig habe ich mit Logic, GarageBand und FinalCut ein paar Aufnahmen gemacht. Nutzt man den -20dB-Switch, reduziert sich das Grundrauschen des Mikrofons, der angeschlossene Verstärker, kann dann das möglichst rauschfreie Signal verstärken und die Aufnahmequalität nimmt deutlich zu - soweit die Theorie. In der Praxis benutze ich das Mikrofon um z.B. VoiceOver über Video-Bedienungsanleitungen zu legen bzw. Textteile einzusprechen - sobald das Video auf einer der gängigen Online-Plattformen landet hört man da keinen großen Unterschied mehr. Ich denke da habe ich auch den falschen Usecase, im Gesangsbereich wird man von dieser Funktion deutlich mehr profitieren. Der zweite Switch, links, ist ein Low-Cut-Filter, er schneidet automatisch alle Geräusche unter einer bestimmten Hz-Zahl automatisch raus - in diesem Fall 100 Hz. So bietet sich die Option, z.B. Trittgeräusche, das Surren von Festplatten, Wind/ Luftzug usw. direkt schon vor der Aufnahme aus dem Tonspektrum zu schneiden - bei dieser Funktion merkt man selbst bei Audioaufnahmen mit einem schlechteren Codec deutlich die bessere Qualität. Klang: Jedes Mikrofon/ jeder Hersteller hat seine eigene Färbung, ähnlich wie bei Analogfilm. Blue gibt seinen Mikrofonen eine sehr warme Stimmfarbe. Beschreiben lässt sich sowas in Textform sehr schwer, am bestem mal auf die Seite von Blue schauen und die Stimmproben hören. Diese Färbung kriegt in meinen Ohren kein anderer Hersteller so gut hin, RODE mag gute Mikrofone bauen, ein zu cleaner Ton ist aber für den Hörer oft etwas komisch. Töne die zu klar sind, zu sauber und zu neutral - wie ein komplett weißer Raum - lenken oft viel mehr vom Inhalt des Videos und Tons ab als dass sie die Verständlichkeit verbessern. Und nein, dass soll nicht heißen, dass das Spark SL unsauber aufnimmt oder den Ton verzerrt, die Färbung macht es aber zu einem perfekten Mikrofon für Stimmen, den man gerne zuhören soll. Zusammenfassung: Will man dieses Mikrofon ordentlich betreiben, sind neben den >200€ für das Spark auch noch knapp 200€ für einen guten Verstärker, XLR-Kabel und Tischstativ zu berechnen - wenn man diese Investition aber wagt, dann gewinnt man ganz klar an Aufnahmequalität. Auch hat man in der Nachbearbeitung deutliche Vorteile. Ähnlich wie RAW-Bilder können mit diesem Mikrofon viel breite Spektren abgedeckt werden, so hat man hinterher deutlich mehr Spielraum für die eigene Kreativität.

Ha un suono pazzesco. Vale molto di più del prezzo a cui viene venduto. Perfetto per fare podcasting (ovviamente con una stanza trattata acusticamente come per tutti i mic a condensatore).

I’ve used a dozen of different microphones, many much more expensive than this one, but it blew me away for the price the shock mount is “fine” (loosens up quickly and has an annoying notched angle connector)
