I love that this is small in size. I take mixed with the companies plain AHCC so I can get daily AHCC and beta glucans. Personally, I only take 1 or 2 even though suggested serving is 3 cause again I mix with the plain AHCC capsule. I take on empty stomach. Beta glucans are prebiotic and for me I notice the beneficial effects working in my intestines in the morning. Personally, I feel that 3 might be too much for me. I don't eat heavy foods and I don't eat late. So things move through me regularly. I feel this is a great product and it reduces me from having to take an additional beta glucan supplement. It helps me achieve full potential of immune system functioning at it’s peak level of performance. I want a healthy, balanced response from my immune system – one that responds to stressors but doesn't over respond. This is a concern for me as I suffer from several autoimmune diseases.

I did some research in July after being told by my doctor that there appeared to be abnormalities in my annual OB exam. I was scheduled for a colposcopy, but had to wait 3 weeks for that appointment. Anytime you hear the word "biopsy" you get a little nervous. I couldn't sit and do nothing. So, I did research. I turned to Amazon to find what I read was a worthy thing to try in cases like this. These are easy to swallow, there's no weird smell or taste to them in my opinion, and they don't irritate my stomach like a lot of meds and some vitamins do. I've been taking them for a month and a half now (4,500 mg/day), and I intend to continue taking them daily. I've since had my biopsy and was told there was nothing abnormal or alarming found. No point stopping a good thing just because I'm so relieved by those results. My OB told me that I'm taking a good dosage, and thst she has heard and read that Mushroom extract works wonders. High praise from my doctor!

I started taking this supplement because it was recommended by Dr Alan Inglis in his book, "The Doctors Book of Natural Cures" as a means of lowering PSA levels. My PSA level was 8.7 when I started, and after 6 months it was reduced to 4.2, so I am quite pleased. I'll continue taking this supplement to see if I can gain any further reduction.
