I've used Beyerdynamic for the last 15 years or so, I've owned a pair of the DT770 Pro's for home and the IDX 160 iE for out and about during that time and use both pretty much daily. The build quality has never failed me and the sound quality is always superb. They know what they're doing. I purchased these after getting a "new tech" itch and wired earphones at the gym were becoming annoying so ordered the Free Byrd. Build quality is solid, battery life of 11 hours is about right and the case holds enough charge for 2 full charges - not the chance to actually test that yet but have been using them solidly for the last few days. Sound quality - very good, great bass, smooth silky top end and punchy mids. The App - it's alright, but you can do most stuff without it, the sound test / personalisation is a cool feature, I suggest doing it a few times so you get used to it, and don't fall into the trap of tapping the button based on the predictable timing of the sound that you hear, rather press and hold ONLY when you hear it. I then suggest only actually using no more than 30% of the personalisation setting (it has a slider). Noise Cancellation - never actually had anything with cancellation so can't compare, but it's alright, it's not deathly silent but it doesn't quieten the ambient noise around you - I think it's also really important to get the correct ear tip size in first of all. But all round, would recommend these.

I've tried a handful of wireless earphones and so far these have the best balance of convenience and sound quality. They come with useless features like gesture controls but they are super simple to turn off with the app.

I'm happy with this purchase, it's a well made product, well thought on its design and functions. I gave it a 4 star only because the ANC is not that good. To get a good sound out of it you got to fiddle with it and I used a separate eqiulizer in order to find the sound I like to hear. One of the best features of this product is its microphone never had a better respond from other end of the call, I was told it's very clear and sharp. For the price it's a great product. Would recommend it.

I've been using these for nearly two years, up to 8 hrs a day. The sound produced is wonderful. Full clean and clear. No worries with battery power. The noise cancelling is spot on. I'm really pleased with these buds. That's an assessment from a really fussy audiosnob here! A picky wonk that can't accept sub par sounds that uses these buds...all day, everyday. Testify.

Once you have got the right foam or silicon tips to fit (and there are loads supplied) you do the ear test and play around with the equaliser the sound is rather lovely. Great sound stage, nice warm and very present bass and detail on mids and treble. And they sound, like most headphones/buds better each time you play. First ones from this respected German company-and I am not disappointed.

- build quality: the case feels cheap, and there are weird current noises in the left earbud I received, which just ruins the overall performance of sound quality and noise cancellation - sound quality: much much better than AirPods Pro and Sennheiser Momentum TWS 3rd Gen, with much more clear sound stage and crystal clear bass and vocal - noise cancellation: much better than the AirPods Pro in the low-frequency part, but not that great in dealing with mid-frequency noises

The sound quality and the build is very underrated for the price. Part of the software performs a hearing frequency test which makes sense as why amplify frequencies you can't hear. The audio quality is fantastic. I have the 990 earphones so took a chance on the in ear phones and wasn't disappointed. Great quality and battery life.

Looked forward to getting these wireless earphones for work to use with phone/laptop use. I've used beyerdynamic wired earphones before and they were my favourite. The microphone pickup for calls on windows 11 and android is unacceptably bad with these earphones. Everyone says it sounds like I am in a tunnel, I upgraded firmware, tried everything. I regret wasting all this money on these. Not fit for use. Don't make the mistake I made and buy these.

They have excellent sound quality, great bass, no clipping, just 10/10 on that front. I don't have much need for noise cancellation but they seem to do a pretty good job, just know I've dropped my earbuds a few times over the last few months on concrete/tile and the ANC on my right bud has gotten pretty fuzzy/warbley so I had to disable it, but otherwise they're still 100% functional. I've had a lot of annoyances with other wireless earbuds that are too flimsy or had touch buttons on awkward places that could be activated when out of your ear, which made them extremely annoying to handle. So I love that these are bigger and have a lot more space to hold onto, never had any accidental button presses. They have a sensor to detect when they're in ear, and sends a pause/unpause to your media when you take them out and put them back in. I really like this feature but some may find it annoying, I'm not sure if it can be disabled in the app. I have encountered ZERO syncing issues; I've had wireless earbuds that stop connecting with each other, that try to connect individually with my device, that refuse to connect entirely. I've never had any of those problems with these earbuds. They have an 8-9 hour full charge plus like 3 full charges in the case. If I remember to put them back in my case when I step away from my desk I never run out of battery. Something people don't tell you about wireless earbuds is that they're not really ideal for voice calls and listening to media at the same time, because the headset driver uses half of the Bluetooth bandwidth for its microphone, this makes all of the sound they output very low quality. This is a problem with Bluetooth 5.0 and not the devices, however, it will only use the headset driver and not output any sound to the main stereo output when connected to a call on windows. So even if you have an external microphone, you're still reduced to halved audio quality when using these for a call.

One of the best earbuds that I used. Like them they are not perfect and they come with a lot of different size.

Wenn man sich die heutigen Platzhirsche in Sachen In-Ears anschaut, so hat man entweder als IPhone User die "Airpods" oder als Androider JBL, Samsung, Sony oder Sennheiser im Fokus. Mittlerweile halten sich bei mir im Basis Equipment im ständigen Wechsel die "Bose Sport Earbuds" und die "Bowers & Wilkins PI5". Zwar haben die "Bowers & Wilkins" den eklatanten Nachteil der nur knapp 4,5 Std. Nutzungsdauer, aber sind diese von der dahinter gesehenen Leistung für mich unschlagbar. Auch habe ich bei mir irgendwo noch herum liegen die Kopfhörer und In-Earer von Sony, die Sony (WF/WH 1000 MX3). Allerdings überzeugt mich das Klangerlebnis nicht, da es zu sauber rüber kommt und man jeden Fehler im Originalton direkt heraushört. Überschreiendes Kratzen am oberen Rand klingt zu direkt und schmerzt förmlich. Ich nutze es nur am Laptop wenn ich Videos bearbeite oder im Internet unterwegs bin. Ich bezeichne mich selbst als audiophil. Genieße Musik bewusst oder auch mal nebenher und das auch gerne mal laut. Musikalisch höre ich querbeet, sei es Schlager, Dance / EDM oder auch Jazz, Klassik. Jetzt am Start für mich die "Beyerdynamics Free Byrd". =========== Nachdem ich meine Retour für die "KEF mu3" angemeldet hatte, kam als Empfehlung die "Beyerdynamics Free Byrd", die ich bislang nicht wirklich im Fokus hatte. Ohne mich groß zu informieren, was ich eigentlich sonst immer mache, ins Blaue bestellt. Angekommen am nächsten Tag in einer klimaneutralen Verpackung, hatte ich etwas ungünstig den Karton geöffnet, so dass mir erst einmal alle Ear-Tipps entgegen gefallen sind. Dank des "Unboxing Videos" auf der Herstellerseite konnte ich aber diese schnell wieder in die Ausstanzungen zurückordnen, um mich dann an den verschiedenen Größen aus zu probieren. Mein Handy war auf Bluetooth eingestellt und fanden die Kopfhörer sofort nachdem ich diese aus dem Case genommen hatte; Google Pair meldete sich, verknüpften die Kopfhörer, luden die "miy" App herunter, fragten ob "Alexa" als Sprachassistent eingestellt werden sollte und das Firmware Update wurde heruntergeladen. Währenddessen konnte ich mich etwas mit den Ear-Tips auseinandersetzen. Beyerdynamic setzt bewusst keinen Standard Ear-Tip auf die Auslieferungsvariante, um den User den Wink zu geben, sich bewusst mit den Ear-Tips auseinander zu setzen. Das aufsetzen geht gut von statten. Die teilhafte Kritik, die "Free Byrd" wirken so als würden diese gleich aus dem Ohr fallen, kann ich teilweise bestätigen. Ich denke das ist der Kompromiss, damit die In-Earer im Ohr nicht drücken und man diese wirklich lange tragen kann. Statt der bei mir sonst üblichen "L", waren es dann die "M", die bei mir gut gepasst haben. Zur Bedienung (Medien): links- 1x drücken - play/stop 2x drücken - ANC an/aus / Transparenzmouds 3x drücken - Titel zurück 1x lang drücken - Sprachassistent starten 1x kurz drücken, dann lang - leiser rechts- 1x drücken - play/stop 2x drücken - ANC an/aus / Transparenzmouds 3x drücken - Titel vorwärts 1x lang drücken - Sprachassistent starten 1x kurz drücken, dann lang - lauter Die Sensortasten schlagen relativ gut an (auf dem "Y" der In-Ear); da kenne ich weit aus andere In-Ear Kopfhörer, die wesentlich träger sind, z.B. jene von "Sony" oder "Bose". "Alexa" meldet sich auch schnell zu Wort bei Aktivierung des Sprachassistent. Mono Modus ist möglich, dafür einen In-Ear zurück ins Case legen. Die Musik läuft dann auf dem anderen In-Ear weiter. Telefonieren ist auch so möglich. Die Tastenbelegung bleibt im Mono Modus gleich. Wer also den In-Ear nur links trägt, kann ich den Tipp geben im Google Play Store die App "Skip Track" herunterzuladen und sich den nächsten Titel durch doppel Klick auf die Lautstärkewippe zu legen. - Nimmt man die In-Ear aus dem Ohr stoppt bei gewisser Entfernung die Musik. Etwas lange, aber noch im annehmbaren Bereich ist das teilweise zurückkoppeln, wenn man die In-Ears kurz aus dem Ohr genommen hat und wieder einsetzt. - Was positiv auffällt, die Musik wird auch für außenstehende besser als die Konkurrenz abgeschirmt, so dass man gerne ein paar Dezibel mehr drauf legen kann, bis es für die Außenwelt störend wirkt. Mit der App "Miy" bringt Beyerdynamic gleich einen Equalizer mit, der wirklich einen frischen Wind mitbringt und keine Unterstützung durch die vom Smartphone (z.B. Dolby Atmos / Equalizer) benötigt. Sehr gut finde ich die Option, ein eigenes Klangbild zu erstellen, wo anhand eines Rauschens ein Piepton in verschiedenen Tonlagen heraus zu hören ist. Eine Art Hörtest für die Kopfhörer. Das bringt den Vorteil mit sich, dass die Musik dann stimmiger auf das eigene Tonempfinden präsentiert wird. Rauschen ist nur beim ANC aus und Transparenzmodus etwas wahrnehmbar. Da ich "ANC" selbst nur sehr selten nutze, halte ich mich mit einem Urteil hier zurück. Vielleicht für den ein oder anderen interessant, während des Tragens blinken bzw. leuchten die Kopfhörer nicht. =========== Musik wird frisch und agil wiedergeben. Man merkt dass ein Equalizer im Hintergrund aktiv ist. Bass ist gut vorhanden, aber stimmig mit dem Gesamtbild. Kein Übersteuern oder Ungleichgewicht. Qualität wird in der gesamten Bandbreite wiedergeben. Spitzen werden teilweise dezent glatt geschliffen. Sowohl die leisen, als auch die lauten Töne werden ausgewogen und gut balanciert wiedergegeben. Man ist beim hören teilweise am rätseln, ob ein Codec mitschwingt, der an manchen Stellen versucht manche Töne zu flicken, die kratzen könnten. - Quer gehört mit "Deezer": Bei meiner Hörprobe habe ich gleich mit meinem K.O. Musiktitel angefangen - "Ava Max - Kings & Queens", da besonders der Anfangspart dazu neigt bei vielen Kopfhörern an Ihre Grenze zu kommen. Die "Free Byrd" bringen die Musik nahezu ungefiltert herüber. Etwas zu klar wie ich finde, ist aber absolut im Rahmen und ein absoluter Ohrenschmaus. Die Spitzen kratzen wirklich minimal, was aber an der Abmischung liegt. Hier ist die Situation, dass hier nur minimal oder teilweise ein Codec angewendet wird und man die Musik klarer und unbearbeiteter wahrnimmt. Sowohl über "deezer", als auch "you tube". Da kenne ich andere Hersteller die wesentlich mehr Defizite haben bei diesem Titel. Kritik wirklich im unteren 5% Bereich auf das Gesamtbild, dass es schon fast zu vernachlässigen ist. Man muss extrem gut zuhören. Lautes Musik hören verzerrt in keiner Weise. Klarheit bleibt vorhanden. "Johnny Cash - Hurt" (03:17), das überschreien im Klangbild wird gut im Zaun gehalten. Saubere Abmischung. "Lindsey Stirling - Sleepwalking", am Anfang hört man eine Atemsequenz. Für viele Kopfhörer ein Krampf diese in einer guten Abmischung hervorzuheben. Für die "Free Byrd" kein Problem. Klassik wird zum Erlebnis. EDM, Dance Material keinerlei Probleme. Klar und frisch präsentiert, dass es Spaß macht zuzuhören. "Jasmin Wagner - Regentropfen", "Vanessa Mai - Nie wieder", "Vanessa Mai - Landebahn". Keine Auffälligkeiten. "Michelle - Cest la vie" (03:04), bei der Phrase "(du und ich für) immer" ist in der Abmischung ein deutlisches überschreien wahrnehmbar, was am Quellmaterial liegt. Die Höhen an dieser Stelle werden von den In-Ears gut abgefangen, so dass es angenehm klingt (vgl. mit "Jonny Cash - Hurt"). "Lindsey Stirling - Artemis" ... auf den Punkt. "Eloy de Jong - Schritt für Schritt" ... gute prägnante Stimmpräsenz, ohne dass man an manchen Stellen denken könnte, es könnte verwaschen rüber kommen, da Musik und Gesang gleichzeitig rüber kommt. Einmal ein ganz anderes Genre. Klassik. "Janine Jansen - The Lark Ascending". Wow, wow und nochmals Wow. Die leisen Töne am Anfang dieses Stückes. Ein wirklich angenehmes audiophiles Erlebnis. Einfach eine ruhige Stelle suchen und die Musik über diese In-Ear genießen. Man denkt man ist mit im Aufnahmestudio und hört teilweise das Atmen der Violinistin. So klar und erhaben. Respekt! Selten dass man so in die Musik eintaucht. Keine Schwankungen, kein Gefühl von Nachbearbeitung. Bravo! =========== Synchron: Probe gehört mit Videos bei youtube und waipu tv. Es läuft soweit synchron, dass man Verzögerungen nicht bewusst wahr nimmt. =========== Telefonieren geht ohne Probleme. Ton kommt von der Qualität ungefilter und unbearbeitet so an, als würde man sonst über das Handy direkt telefonieren. Gesprächspartner versteht mich ohne Probleme. Ein Tag getragen, mein Fazit: Mit an die 11 Stunden Nutzungsdauer, in Verbindung mit der App wirklich unschlagbar was "Beyerdynamic" hier abliefert. In-Ear Tips die nicht drücken und ein längeres hören unproblematisch machen über Stunden hinweg, Klangsteuerung an das eigene Empfinden mit integriert (was auch merklich was bringt). Ich glaube die anderen In-Ears nutze ich wirklich nur noch, wenn ich nicht schnell genug war, die "Free Byrd" wieder aufzuladen. - Einzig schade, dass sich die Tasten nicht anders belegen lassen an den In-Ears. Ich bleibe bei den "Free Byrd" ! =========== Update, 17.12.2022 Mittlerweile ist mir ein In-Ear bereits auf den Asphalt gefallen. Weder Kratzer, noch technischen Schaden erlitten. Auch das Horror Szenario, einmal mit in der Waschmaschine, haben die In-Ears dank voller Waschmaschinenladung überlebt. Hatte diese in der Brusttasche eines Jerseyshirts vergessen heraus zu nehmen.

My older pair of Apple AirPods Pro died so I was trying to decide between buying another pair of the same or this one. I already own the Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones which are professional grade, which I use for professional purposes. So I was eager to try these Bluetooth earphones by the same manufacturer. I’m a bit of a sound snob, so I actually rate these Beyerdynamic earphones better than the Apple AirPods in terms of their frequency response & overall detailing of sound you can hear. If you download the Beyerdynamic MIY app, it even allows you to personalise the frequency response as per your hearing ability. It beats the Apple AirPods Pro hands down in terms of overall sound quality and accuracy. That said, it does lack the seamless functionality of its Apple competitor, such as switching between devices, and of course the ability to locate them if misplaced or lost. As a sound snob, I’m willing to sacrifice a little user-ease for the superior sound quality. The battery life has been quite decent so far. It remains to see how great the overall life of the battery itself holds up.
