Incredible value. Works perfectly.

I got this drive mainly as a storage medium. 12 GB is a lot of storage space. It is for storing big files, videos, audio and anything not needing to be accessed constantly. I would not recommend using a big drive like this as a booting or operating system device. It is the constant accessing of files in an operating system that kills a drive's heads. So, it won't be a surveillance/CCTV drive either. It could be put to good use as a member of a RAID setup, however, with at least two identical drives in the array.This drive works well although it is a bit noisy when accessed.At the price it is truly afforable. I really hope I don't have to come back in three months to change this review. :)

12TB storage, yes. However, my main issue is that after 3 hours of running in my DVR, it was SO hot to the touch that I could literally not touch it. I mean that literally, I physically was unable to touch it. I had to get a rag to touch it, even after about 10 minutes of being outside the case. In 30 years of builds, I've never seen a drive this hot. I don't see how anything that gets that hot would function over time, or not damage my equipment, or just plain set fire. Inexpensive storage, but at least in my case you get what you pay for. I have a Seagate in a similar environment and it gets hot, sure, but not damagingly so and not untouchable. Great return setup, thank you, I wish I didn't have to return it.

Surveillance HD's for your NVR tend to be expensive and not necessarily more reliable than regular drives. This drive is definitely bang for your buck and, so far, has been very reliable. Drive temperature is normal even under heavy load (constant recording) and has not been an issue. Getting this large a capacity for the price was definitely a plus.While it hasn't been long enough to comment on reliability long-term, so far indications are that it should be reliable over the 3-year warranty period.

GREAT PRICE! So far it has lasted 2 months as storage for rsync. BUT it is really really loud!!! Any activity sounds like rain on a tin roof! It make so much noise that I fear for it's longevity. I saw one review that it was quiet... that had to be a false review...

I love mdd drives they do actually what as advertised. I should buy a multi HD external caddy but ...yes I got one... but maybe but a 8 bay one and go home on it..

It is a quiet and fast internal hard drive. During my test, the file writing speed could reach 180MB/s. Its real storage space is about 10.9 TB after format. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to pay low price and high-performance hard drive.

Hard drive is loud and a bit slow, but it does work.
