If you could give an item a "0" review I would. Building an Arduino circuit and bought these expecting them to actually work but I was sadly disappointed. I built the circuit and the DF Player Mini wouldn't work, nothing, no sound and no LED. checked the wiring and the power supply and that was good so I tried another. Well #2 didn't work so checked things again and really started second guessing myself at this point so I pulled this one and tried another. Well #3 didn't work either. Getting upset now and nothing more to check so figured I'd give #4 a shot. You guessed it, #4 didn't work either. It's exceedingly frustrating to buy 5 pieces of something and have EVERY ONE of them destined for the landfill. One more to try, is #5 any different? Finally!!! The 5th DF Player Mini in the box worked. I Hadn't done anything different, just pulled the board each time leaving all the wires intact. Just to be sure I wasn't losing my mind I double checked the first 4 again and they were trash. I should have had parts for another few projects and will have to look at getting some more but from a different vendor this time. DON"T BUY THESE!

Don't believe ChatGPT when it says the led should flash when first connected. It only comes on when playing. If you are using a ESP32 try pins 18 for RX and 19 for TX. Some other pins I tried didn't work.
