Awesome winch for the money.
I have been running this winch for a couple of years now on my Jeep JKU without any issues. The wireless remote always connects quickly and it has been problem free. The winch rope it came with worked great, no issues other than it becoming stiff when used, i just work it a bit to soften and to remove any weird set it took. You also need to keep the rope tight on the spool or it will do weird things, but that's just synthetic rope 101. Out of the box, you do want to tension the rope on the spool, mine was pretty loose on the spool. Lots of youtube videos on the different methods used to do that. While i did end up changing the rope out for something else that didn't stand out so much, the rope never failed me. The ropes final act before being converted into an extension was to assist me with the install of a rear offroad bumper. I needed to apply pressure to one side of the rear bumper as i torqued the bolts in order to get it centered and lined up with the fenders, and to apply a couple weld beads to make it really solid due to a wierd design/mounting choice they made (smitt XRC). I thought about using one of my recovery rings and another vehicle parked in front of the jeep do do it proper, but i opted to see how well the rope handled the abuse. No issues, no fraying, no signs of the rope being compromised. I also used a couple rope sleeves to prevent snagging as the rope was routed under the vehicle. It did rub a little red/orange on the fairlead but it did what i needed. Once i retired the rope from winch use and converted it to a winch extension, i needed to convert one end to a soft loop. Watching some youtube videos i had no issues following the process and running the rope through the strands and into the center. The winch itself has been performing well, and i can stand at the maximum length of the rope and experienced no connectivity issues. Helpful when changing the winch rope and trying to keep some tension as i load it onto the spool. Only complaint with the winch, it's a little slow. Likely due to the gear reduction, but it is slow. Even slower when loaded. Dangling on the point of near annoyance while the winch is dragging the jeep up a hill. Me wondering how hot the winch is getting while i clear a couple feet. The red rope also started to turn orange, it took it a good year and a half before i started noticing the hue difference between parts exposed to the sun, and parts protected due to the position on the spool. Being that it's red, it's not surprising. The red color was already close to orange as it was. I do like how visible the rope is, it doesn't blend into the background. Anyone coming by will sure notice it! The winch design i also find attractive, strong brand "W" vibes. Sizing of the winch body was also perfect for my bumper. It fit into the hole like it was designed for it. And sits nice and low like i wanted. Having a winch is even more handy than i thought it would be I use it around the yard/property to rip out trees and bushes. And most recently i used it to straighten a bent piece of 1/4in thick angle iron. Parked the jeep on top of the steel, then used a tree saver and a recovery ring to have the pully pull from a different angle. Even if your just looking for a winch to complete the look or fill a hole in a winch bumper, you will probably find lot's of uses for it that don't involve recovery! I would 100% buy another one of these due to my experience so far and the price.

Powerful winch at a good price
I haven't had an opportunity to test this is real conditions, but it seems to work well on a bench test. The assembly instructions consisted of one page consisting of a small diagram on wiring. Nothing on bolting to a mount, etc. The rest of the information in the book as about how to use a winch. And don't bother calling X-Bull, you won't reach anyone. There is not help on their web site either. My chief complaint is the four mounting holes are not threaded but instead have a slot to slide in a nut that fits loosely. The nuts do not stay in place when you are mounting, so you have to tape them or use some other method to prevent it from falling out.

Extremely Well Built and So Far Reliable
Bought this Winch because of its incredible price. I have had X-Bull Traction Boards and Recovery Straps for over a year now and they were very reliable. So I decided to give it a try on this 13500 lb Winch. I am also attracted to the remote control that it came with. The package came in really quickly. It was like only a 3-day delivery. And all components were as advertised. Extra cords, 2*remote control plus a wire that connect the remote control to the control box on the winch. I really like the idea of attaching the remote control via wire which means one less thing to carry during Overlanding. The installation was easy and all hardware was provided. And the remote control worked very well. I will say the range was around 50 feet. So far, I have used it once pulling my GX up a 70 degree slope. It worked really well! For 1/3 the price of Warne and 1/2 the price of harbor freight winch, I absolutely consider my money well spent.

DANGEROUS AND UNRELIABLE
I regret to say that my experience with the X-BULL Winch-13500 lb. Load Capacity Electric Winch Kit was nothing short of disastrous. After just one use, the cord snapped while attempting to recover a Toyota Camry, a vehicle well within the winch's specified capacity. The synthetic rope, advertised as durable and reliable, was tangled, melted, and appeared to have been used extensively. Upon closer inspection, we discovered that the rope was frayed in many areas, indicating poor quality and further compromising safety. Moreover, the advertised wireless remote control turned out to be anything but wireless. It required a direct plug-in to the winch, which was inconvenient and contradictory to the product description. Furthermore, the controls were erratic and counterintuitive, causing the winch to operate in the opposite direction of what was indicated. The most alarming aspect, however, was the safety hazard posed by the malfunctioning equipment. During an attempt to pull the vehicle up a ramp, the rope suddenly snapped, sending the vehicle rolling dangerously downhill, narrowly missing a worker and another parked truck. Additionally, upon closer inspection, it became apparent that the item was assembled incorrectly, with components seemingly installed in reverse. Despite attempts to contact X-BULL for assistance and to file a complaint, reaching them proved futile. This lack of customer support only compounds the frustration and disappointment associated with this product. In summary, the X-BULL Winch-13500 lb. Load Capacity Electric Winch Kit not only failed to deliver on its promises of functionality and safety but also posed a significant risk to users and bystanders alike. I strongly advise against purchasing this product, as its unreliability and lack of support make it a liability rather than an asset.
