Trend 36-Inch Varijig Clamp Guide for Routers & Saws, VJS/CG/36

Very happy with this clamp guide. I paid a bit more getting this vs. the ProGrip based on reviews and really like it. (I have no personal experience with the Progrip and it may be just as good). This has almost no flex and is perfectly straight. I will probably end up getting the 24in as well.

Many of the other guides require space below which makes it tough if you are cutting plywood or anything on the ground on top of the pink foam installation as I do. this one you can do that with! will even hold if the wood is flush with the ground. great product, will def buy this brand in other sizes.

La caja y la herrramienta están dobladas y mirando la caja no hay sorpresa allí. Me gusta el producto pero no sé en qué estaban pensando las personas que lo empacaron. Estoy súper frustrado y enojado con está experiencia. Si los gastos de envio no son demasiados altos; voy a devolverla. Perdida de tiempo y los vendedores tienen que pensar bien en como empacar cosas con dimensiones así antes de frustrar sus clientes. 4 estrellas al producto si funcionó. 0 estrellas al tiempo y frustración de gastar mucho y no recibir algo que funciona.

OK, now I see the benefit of buying the proper tool. This is much easier, faster, more stable, less cumbersome and just better than all the makeshift methods I've used in the past. I used it with my circular saw today and, together with a decent blade, got a first class straight cut through 12mm plywood. It might take a little experimentation before you fully understand how to operate it, but just spend 5 minutes practicing on a piece of board, pushing and pulling all the sliding parts and you'll get the hang of it. (In essence, when you want to clamp it across the board there are 2 parts you can slide: one snugs it up to the wood, the other locks the slider in place. Then the lever tightens it all down.) But, if your the kind of operator to wield a circular saw or router then you'll work it out. Also, you'll look a lot slicker and more professional adeptly using this, and you will be smiling inside; a source of frustration has been nearly engineered away. I may have got carried away with this review.

This clamp is what I had been looking for. I previously used a simple metal straight edge and clamped it to my work piece. This Trend clamp is much quicker to use and ensures you won't have clamps protruding beneath or above your workpiece. Additionally you can use accessories such as the Trend circular saw guide which slots into a grove of this fence. I was able to even clamp it to 2mm coated particle board. The clamping action is very powerful and the fence will not move once clamped. A quality tool.
