Giving this 5 stars because it took 30 seconds to swap out, was super affordable, and works with all of my batteries big and small except my new powerstack 5ahs. The vacuum will not run with it, it tries to but it sounds like it’s dying of thirst from no juice. Swapped it out with a regular 4ah and ran both max suction and extended run like it was a brand new vacuum. Buying another to fix up another used Dyson on marketplace to keep in the garage

I purchased this about a year ago to replace my failing OEM Dyson battery, as the replacement batteries seemed excessively priced for what amounts to a battery pack of standard 18650 batteries. (What I'd really like to see is a replacement battery pack you could open so you could just swap out the 18650s, but I've never found something like that.)It has worked well for me. I've had good suction on both regular and turbo settings. Battery life seems fine, but it obviously won't replace a wired vacuum for larger jobs. To be fair, that's true for a brand new Dyson battery pack, too.My biggest gripe is that it is not designed so that you can use the Dyson wall mount. This is true both with and without the battery installed. I wish they had designed this so that you could still use the wall mount, or had included a replacement mount.

I got this after getting tired of the Dyson batteries dying and just not really holding up well. I have lots of Dewalt 20v tools, so it made sense to try it. It was way enough to install with just a screwdriver and a couple minutes of minimal effort.The vacuum seems to have more power and last longer on a 5ah 20v max battery than it ever did on the built-in dyson battery. When it does run out of battery, it's easy to swap in a new one in seconds.The big downside is that you can no longer use the Dyson wall mount charger. Not a big deal for us, but maybe for someone. Also, if you don't already have Dewalt 20v batteries and chargers, then this may not be worth the expense. those batteries are good, but they aren't cheap. The knock-off dewalts are really hit-or-miss on quality (mostly miss).

I'm reviewing this about 1 year after ordering. It really works! It does everything that it did with the dyson batteries, but uses all the Dewalt 20v batteries I already own. Only down side is that the wall mount charger does not work, but NBD. Get it!

I’m so glad I found this item. I found a discarded Dyson vacuum was thrown out for bulk item pickup.I brought it home and discovered the battery wss no good. Popped this guy in (just one screw), threw in my Dewalt battery and boom! A fully functional Dyson working as good as it probably did day it was bought!This thing saved me 200$ and gave me a free 500$ vacuum on top of it!! Very pleased!!Installation was very simple, just one screw! It matches the vacuums color scheme and looks like it was built by the OEM. It had a status light that turns on while in use. Keep in mind however, this adapter will NOT charge your battery but you should know this already. You should only charge your tool battery in a the charger designed by your manufacturer. Thankfully they thought of this by removing the power plug that was normally present in the original battery so you don’t accidentally plug your Dyson charger into this to charge your tools battery.If your vacuum is not working, consider this before buying a 250$ battery replacement. You will be pleased!
