First let me say that I tend to over-analyze things before I make a purchase. I researched Dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Ridgid and Hitachi. Its important to note, that all of these companies try to save money in one way or another. Some save by skimping on the features, some by using cheaper materials, and some are just plain putting out bad products. Dewalt, Makita and Milwaukee are typically what I see in the field as a contractor. They all have their pros and cons. One thing they also do is offer more powerful tools if they are purchased individually, which can be very expensive. For example, Dewalt is probably the biggest offender in that category. Just compare the sawzall and circ saw features of their kits, with the models that are sold individually. Well, I went with Milwaukee because I feel this kit offered me quality tools at a good price. 5 year warranty on tools, and 3 year on batteries. 6 tools in one package is exactly what I was looking for. Shipping was fast, package arrived in excellent condition, double boxed. Purchased on Amazon but sold and shipped by CPO. First impression, is that they are a bit on the heavy side, but I dont mind that. Solid feel and good balance overall. Circular saw included a rip fence and blade. One blade for sawzall. Impact driver included a belt hook. Grinder included 2 quick attach guards and a removable handle. I cant tell you how happy I am to see a green light on the battery charger. It may sound silly, but I find it very annoying when there is only a red light. When its green you are good to go, and the battery packs themselves have power indicators so you always know how much charge remains. One suggestion for Milwaukee! Please consider including bit holders for the drill and impact driver. I have found them online and the parts themselves are very cheap; so why not include such a useful item? I will be following up with this post after some real world use.
