Good frame, looks nice, easy to use
Wanted a wood frame with the acrylic uv resistant clear sheet so went with this. No disappointed at all. This looks very nice, and despite personally never having framed anything myself, this was very easy to use. Seems like good quality that should last for years to come.

Pretty good diploma frame that won't break the bank or require heavy duty hooks
The GMFrames frame is fine as a lightweight wood diploma frame that can be hung on the wall or stood up on a desk. Nothing really differentiates it from a picture frame except maybe the darker finish. The frame's unit-packaging was very good, with a cardboard box, corner protection, a bubble-wrap surrounding the whole frame, and even peel-away stickers on the acrylic. The MDF backing board is held into the wood outer frame by metal pins that must be bent to access the interior. The backing board has an integrated kickstand for freestanding on a desk, complete with a ribbon to prevent the support from opening too wide. There are metal triangles attached to the MDF board to allow hanging from a single picture hook in both portrait or landscape orientation too. There was an example diploma included inside the frame too. I did notice "spiderweb" of either plasticizer residues or scratches across the acrylic upon removing the protective film. I suspect it's some sort of residue because they're not repeating or linear like I'd expect from scratches. It's only visible with light at the right angle and I've not yet been able to capture it in a photo. It might be bothersome if the frame is propped up on a desk facing you, but I also will attempt to remove it with glass cleaner at some point. The outer box suggests the frame is "clear high definition glass" but it's a thin piece of acrylic (which is what the amazon listing states).

Not Just for Diplomas
This is a nice frame for any letter-size (8-1/2 X 11) artwork. I used it for an antique sign.

Beautiful value for money
This is a beautiful frame that looks like it costs more than it does. The cherry wood is cut into little steps all the way around the frame, which really makes the contents stand out. I got the smaller size because I'm framing a certificate and not a diploma (I didn't want the matting; it was a bit too much for the contents), but it is a lovely way to set off my accomplishment and keep my memento looking beautiful on my office wall. It looks impressive! The clear part is not glass but plastic, and there's a thin, protective sheet of film that needs to be peeled off the front and back of the plastic before framing. Make sure you do so before putting your item in the frame, since the plastic needs to come completely out of the frame in order to remove the film. The little tabs on the back of the frame are a bit hard to pry up and a tool will be necessary to avoid breaking a fingernail. The frame is versatile and can be set on a surface or hung vertically or horizontally. It's set up for any of those three choices. It's a lovely and impressive frame for the price, and I am happy with it!
