It took my dog a while to use this regularly. I think it was noise it makes that he didn't like. After a few months he went from occasionally drinking from it to drinking from it all the time. Mine does leak a little and there's some adjustment of the water pump flow trial and error needed to get just the right flow to prevent splashing but all in all its a decent alternative to a static bowl. My dog stopped drinking water from the bowl he had drank from for 7 years so we switched out his bowls every few months then discovered he would only drink water from the bathroom sink and not from the utility sink in the room where his food and water bowl are kept. Finally I tried this after catching him drinki,g from one of the toilets. I know it seems obvious but be aware that you need an outlet near where you intend to place this fountain and it requires more frequent refilling with water than traditional bowls. The filter doesn't really get dirty because its just water but the bowl and filter do get a film on them that needs to be cleaned occasionally. I reccommend placing a towel under the fountain for splashing, leaks and spills.

Well I used to think it was a great product but I had to come back and edit my review. It worked very well for a couple months. But then one day I found a pool of water around the bowl. I wanted to blame the dogs but this was in the morning and the dogs are crated at night.I inspected for any cracks or holes that could cause the leaking. None. I thought that was weird so I just filled the water back up and let it go.Just a week later, same thing. This time, though, I figured it out. When the water would fall down the little waterfall part, some water would splash out onto the floor. Hours of this would definitely leave all the water on the kitchen floor and not in the basin.No, I did not fill the water past the max line.So now I just use the basin. I removed the other components including the pump.I wouldn't recommend this product. I'm going to be shopping around for a better designed one.

Better value than the most expensive one at the store due to value and performance. I have 2 always thirsty dogs and this last them all day before it runs out...granted they weight 8 lbs each but I would imagine it would would work equally good for a bigger size dog that drinks the average amounts of water....it holds a sustainable amount of liquid and it keeps the fluid clean, cold and fresh. My pups and I love and would recommend this product.

It doesn't filter the water at all from my experience? If you put "fresh, clean" water in it with a new filter, after about 36 hours, the water is nasty and slimy around the edges!I used this thing for about a week before discovering this and immediately switched back to the regular bowl...Completely a junk product with false information and totally a waste of my hard-earned money!!!!

Seems to work well and my cats like it. I did take off the cover in the top area so that they can drink from there also. It is not noisy if you set the pump on the lowest setting. I took off one star because after cleaning it it can sometimes take a little effort, though not much, to be sure I have lines up the parts correctly (the pump with the section it inserts into) when putting it back together.

I’ve gotten unlucky with some items lately it seems... this water fountain was for my cats because they like to drink from moving water. Unfortunately, it splashed water everywhere and they will not drink from it due to the amount of splashing. I should have just ordered one like their last dish, but thought this would work.

This waterer worked great but it was very loud and splashed everywhere! Only reason I sent it back was cause I ordered a different one smaller from didn’t company for my step daughter for her car at her moms and I tried it out and omg you can’t even hear the water running and it has adjustable water flow very nice! So that’s why I decided to send this one back and go with different brand

I usually don't write product reviews regularly ( although I should do better) but, this thing has gotten on my nerves so bad, I can't wait to send it back to the company. I got this yesterday, cleaned it up and put it together for the dogs. The motor in the waterfall is so very noisy. I have moved the little motor around but, it continues to rattle the complete unit. One of my dogs is so scared of this that she is not getting any water. I have to fix her a separate bowl. I don't usually complain about things but, this little noisy thing has got to go. Not worth it to me.
