One Way Mirror Film, can be installed on your windows to create maximum privacy during the day, and prevents the "fish-bowl" effect of the window film reversing the reflectivity back into your house at night. This window film is silver 15% on the outside, PLUS 5% black on the inside allowing you to see out while preventing vision into the room and creating an effect similar to what you see in police interrogation rooms in optimal lighting conditions. The layer of 5% on the inside also provides basic night-time privacy. To provide 24-hour privacy, we recommend installing a light on the outside of the glass to enhance the effect, as all films are still dependent on light density. If you're looking for extreme heat reduction, this film blocks the highest level of solar energy at 80%. Excellent UV rejection 6.8% VLT, blocks 99% of UV rays. Solar Energy Transmittance: 7.9% Solar Energy Absorption: 43.2% Solar Energy Reflectance: 48.9% Shading Coefficient: 0.23 IR Rejected: 92.6 This film has been used in a Detroit area police interrogation room, a Cleveland area daycare to allow teachers and parents to observe children and in many homes around the USA to create privacy with maximum heat rejection on residential windows.

Works better than having nothing.
I would have given this product a 5-star, except for the fact that I had to add additional lighting in my front porch to make it work better at night.Works better than having nothing. I guess the product description has been modified to include the fact that you need plenty of lighting outside at night to make the product work a little bit comparable to what you get during the day. At least I read that and understood that before I purchased it about 5 months ago.I applied this product on top of the Window Film Security and Safety Clear 8 Mil tamper film on my door with plenty of lighting and have watched it for a while now since moving into our new house. It works fine and really difficult to see through with plenty of light both inside and outside. Granted with your face to the glass door, you will see the shape of the person on the inside ..I'd recognise them cause I know who it is, but I doubt a total strange can except for being able to tell if its an adult or a child.I'm getting ready to purchase this product again for the windows facing the street.

Great privacy as long as you don't mind the missing sunlight.....
I really like this product when it comes to privacy. When standing outside looking in, day or even night with a light on inside, I can't see in. I can BARELY see a shadow of my husband standing right next to the window, but that's it! So for privacy, it's fantastic. The other reviews said it also provides some sun protection but allows plenty of light in. I disagree. It's about the equivalent of very darkly tinted car windows. It does let light in, but just barely. Even when the sun is hitting the windows pretty directly, it's dark in the room. In my case, with neighbors RIGHT outside the window, I'll trade the light and keep my newfound privacy though.Installation was a breeze. Aside from straddling my kitchen sink to apply this to windows above, it was really simple. The water solution you can make yourself allows you to move the film around a bit to get it placed just right. Make sure you use the squeegie thing that comes with it to smooth out the bubbles and start from the the center and work your way out. It's really easy. I really like this product. I'm curious how long it will last on the windows, but it says it will last forever even with regular cleanings.

Keeps sun out and peeping eyes
Not so easy to cut straight. But it did what I needed to do.

Disappointing
First of all, the 'nighttime vision' claim is false. The film provides great privacy during the day - it's impossible to see into the house when there's lots of light outdoors, but at night there might as well be nothing on the window at all. Anyone outside can see plainly into the lighted room, so if night time privacy is what you're looking for, this is not the product you want.Secondly, the difficulty of applying the film to the window is very high. The directions are scant, and the suggestion to use a squeegee and soapy water is a step in the right direction I suppose, but it's nearly impossible to accomplish a neat application without bubbles and wrinkles marring the look of the finished product. I guess if I installed these window films for a living I might get pretty good at it after a couple of years, but it's doubtful.

Great product for privacy
Excellent product. I bought a house with a hexagon shaped porthole window next to the entry door. It was impossible to put a shade or curtain in this window. This was the solution for privacy to keep folks from standing on the porch and looking into the house, kitchen and up the stairs. Great privacy, I have a nearby porch light which burns at night so 24/7 you can no longer look into the house. It is a bit pricey but it performs well. I will put a different product on some of my other windows where I am looking for daytime privacy only, but for day & night privacy this film is working great.

Very satisfied with the end product
Very satisfied with the end product. It is worth the price. However, we found the installation to be far fussier than other reviewers- tho still worth the final outcome. Definitely, get the additional install kit with the cutter and other tools & spray. Also, we were surprised that basically one roll was good for one window. Making it very pricey. We do think the product is quite good though.

Not like movie style one way glass
But it’s still good at making it hard to see in the House. Even with hands cupped like you would do on car tinting, it’s still hard as heck to see in. If a bright light is on inside, then the effect is reversed; only down side.

Very easy to install, use lots of soapy water
I bought this with a bit of trepidation thinking it would be tricky to install. I had images of it sticking everywhere and being difficult to get straight. But it all went very smooth.Be sure to mix up a spray bottle with a mixture of a half cap baby shampoo and water. Then spray down the surface to be attached very well. And spray the window glass very well. Then you can easily slide or reposition the mirror film quite easily. I was very happy, it actually is extremely easy to install.
