What is the active ingredient?

The active ingredients as well as the inert ingredients are considered by the EPA when classifying a product as a Minimum Risk Pesticide (https://www.epa.gov/minimum-risk-pesticides). Paint-GUARD utilizes the antimicrobial properties of zinc and zinc oxide to deliver long lasting, environmentally friendly protection from mold, mildew, and odor causing bacteria.

Can this be mixed into spackle to stop mold during storage?

That is a creative use idea! We have not tested this circumstance so we cannot suggest Paint Guard to be used in spackling. However, there is no apparent reason it would not work to prevent mold growth in stored spackling. -Paint-Guard Team

Can i use this in my bathroom?

Yes! Paint-Guard Mold Prevention Paint Additive works great in bathrooms and other humid areas such as hot water heater closets and mudrooms.

Can it be used on basement walls??

Paint-Guard is perfect for protecting damp basement walls from mold growth! Be sure the paint you are using is water-based. Note that Paint-Guard is intended to be used after any excessive moisture problem is resolved.
