Looks like CAT5A cables are thinner gauge than CAT6A. Nevertheless, I tried to crimp them, and it didn't work. They were too thin so they did not stay in place, so when the tool crimped them, it didn't connect properly. Disregarding my CAT5A attempt, I crimped it for the intended CAT6A cable, my package had the tiny plastic sleeves included, and they made a world of difference in assisting to sleeve into the connector. Solid connection, and pretty easy to use when you are using the correct "thicker" CAT6A cable in this connector.
