Buttons okay
I have three different kinds of buttons in my home. Fluent pet, PawkieTalkie, and the My Dog Talks buttons. The My Dog Talks buttons and the PawkieTalkie buttons are the same size. So, these can easily fit into those boards just fine. The problem is both are bigger than FluentPet. So, if using FluentPet hextiles, you will have to get crafty and cut into the board to make the buttons fit. I did notice that all three buttons are manufactured by the same company. So, sound quality is similar even though recording is a bit different between each button.I bought these buttons on sale, but now they look to be the same price as FluentPet. At the same price, I would definitely choose FluentPet buttons over these for one big reason: my dog could easily re-record over these buttons but not the FluentPet buttons based on their design.

Good but 2 buttons didn’t work
These were easy to use but 2 of the buttons were dead (no battery) when I received them.

A little small, but definitely useful
These are fun, and my dog - already borderline genius - is now even smarter. If he learns to drive, it's all over for me. My only complaint is that the buttons are a bit on the small side. His big paws tend to flip them over and I have to right them again often, but if you're using a board or mat to secure them, you're good to go. If you just want to use them standalone, you might have some issues.

NOTE: This is an add on set
My husband saw this and thought it would be a good way to try to communicate with our adopted stray Border Collie GSD (just showed up on our farm) that has a preferred method of communication that involves his being mouthy or becoming very insane, there is no inbetween. He is very verbal and understands quite the vocabulary after being with us for about 5 months, but he sadly does not speak people. My husband found this set and decided we should give it a try since teaching our kids simple sign language when they were babies worked well for our family. When we looked at the product page it showed all sorts of stickers that seemed like they would be a good fit for us: outside, food, walk, etc. This package arrived with the six buttons, but with a set of stickers that is not conducive for starting training. I then took another look, and this is the add on set, so it is additional buttons, and the stickers are not what appeared on the page that looked useful for us. The stickers included with this set are: Yummy, Brush, All Done, Where?, Want, Upstairs, Stranger, Sleepy, Sad, Family, Happy, Friend, Go, Help, Noisy. We decided to try one button at first and to just use the word "Outside" since that seems to be when he is most insistent and gets annoyed the most that we are not doing what he wants when he wants us to do it. It's also his favorite thing to do outside of walking, and his limited free range runs (outside of his large fenced area) since we are still working on recall with him. It seems to be working well, although we still have some hiccups. Sometimes he does not hit the button with enough force to get it to go off, so unless you were present to see the attempt or heard the minor click it makes before it actually says the word, then its not working the way it should to have the voice go off. We really are just doing one at a time to get him acclimated to him getting what he wants when he uses it. With more use, we could get all six buttons in use for him to communicate without herding us, going wild, or using his mouth to get what he wants. He's a work in progress, but he has come a long way, and when he can get this button to work for him he gets very excited but in a non harmful way. I just want to reiterate that this is an add on set, so please look into the starter set to start off your dog training with this device as it has more useful phrases for beginning training. I will update this review (battery length, all six buttons going, etc), thank you for reading this, and I do hope you found it helpful!

Meh...
While my dogs are starting to learn how to use them... There are a lot of flaws for them.First is they have no mat with the 6 pack to keep them from sliding all over. I have to cut out in a box.The stickers that come with the 6 pack are awful. They are stickers that are for - Yummy, brush, all done, where, want, sleepy, sad, family, noisy... just things you would not first teach a dog. The buttons I made to help them learn are things they know the most, treat, potty, fetch, nom nom (for their morning/evening meals)But none of the stickers would reflect this so with the cardboard cut out I had to write what each button is for.For the price point on just 6 and what it all does/does not do these really are not worth it IMO there are better ones out there. It's always a good idea to review comments, suggestions, pros/cons and carefully consider your needs before making a purchase.Overall, I would not really recommend these.D-Infinity: helpful, insightful, reviews everybody can use!

Decent buttons, easy for cat to push, but too quiet
My cat loves talking to us with his buttons, but the FluentPet ones are expensive, so when I saw these I grabbed them so we could add to his vocabulary. I've tried FluentPet, the big colored buttons, and now these. These are easily programmable and work just fine. They're easy to push (just as easy as FluentPet). They are very quiet compared to the other two kinds of buttons, though, and I have trouble hearing them, so sometimes I miss what my cat says (which isn't great for consistent training). As far as size, they're way smaller than the big colored buttons, and just a little bigger than the FluentPet ones, which means they're just a smidge too big to fit in the mats I have. They do work and seem sturdy, but I wish they were a bit smaller and louder. Four stars.

Smaller than expected
The set comes with 6 buttons and 15 stickers. I got it for my large dog (70#) but the buttons are so small I don't think it will work for him. I think it is better for a smaller dog (20#) or a cat. I've only ever seen big dogs using the talking buttons that's why I thought of him when I decided to get them. They are simple and straight forward to use. You turn it on, push record, say what you want to say and the next time you depress it your words are spoken. The batteries are already installed and I like the fact that you can turn them off because IF my dogs ever learn it I can see the "treat" button being overused. So far I haven't had any luck training any of my dogs, big or small. It apparently is going to take a lot of time but I haven't given up yet.I took one star away due to the small size.

A bit different to the Fluent Pet buttons, and slightly larger - but value for money in the UK
I bought these because when I looked up how much it was to get more Fluent Pet buttons sent to the UK now, it was an insane cost.First thing to notice when they arrived is they are slightly larger than the Fluent Pet buttons. With a pair of scissors, I simply enlarged one of the holes in my Fluent Pet hextiles to accommodate this button.Second thing is that the method of recording is a bit different. This one I think is actually better than the Fluent Pet option. It may depend on your pet and how they use the buttons, but with the Fluent Pet ones, my dog is somehow able to make the buttons twist in the hextiles, knocking the switch on the side into the "record" position. This is not a concern with this design.Third thing is battery life - the button I've added to the board is "ball", and I have a border collie. So believe me, he has utilised this button heavily. I have not yet had to replace the batteries and I've had these around 2 1/2 months. Again this is a win over Fluent Pet, as many of those batteries seem to last no longer than a week.Fourth is the activation time - now this one is a negative for me, again it depends how your pet uses the buttons. With the Fluent Pet buttons, they activate and make the sound when you press them down. With these buttons, they activate when released. This means the response is slower, and I think my dog is finding that a bit confusing. All in all though, a decent replacement for Fluent Pet buttons in the UK if you're put off by the huge costs of shipping. I'm not sure what we'll do when we eventually run out of space on our HexTiles, perhaps we'll slowly begin to move buttons to the tiles which come with these instead.

Great pack but no mat?
I have the original set which comes with 12 buttons and 3 mats. For such small buttons they’ve got great sound and really responsive to my dogs taps. Only rating 4 stars for the lack of a mat with this button pack. My fault for assuming there would be one as it’s not in the description but as a ‘follow on’ pack I would have expected it to be just that, not a partial follow on pack. There is a follow on 4 with mat so why not with this one too? Also seems a bit flawed you can’t buy the mat separately to try and make it work as a set. Guess these new ones will have to slide around on the floor which just isn’t ideal, or I find a mat that doesn’t match or slot in with the rest.Huge shame as I have been really impressed so far with this product and manufacturer in comparison to other buttons.

An interesting product
Edit. I was contacted by the owners and they sent me a set of the new buttons which had new instructions - you press the black button and keep on pressing until you hear the beep and then record the word (if you have the smaller 6 pack with the old instructions and are struggling)The buttons themselves are small but they do require more pressure to activate than the larger buttons on here and the American brand, this might not matter if you have a dog but for cats it can be the difference between activation and not. There is also good customer support.****I am so disappointed. The first time I bought these buttons they didn’t work, I sent them back, and bought it again hoping that it was just bad luck. And again they didn’t work, other family members tried so it wasn’t user error.

Fantastic product
I wasn't sure about which buttons to buy, but after reading the reviews I purchased a 6 pack of buttons. We are on day 2 and my poodle has just asked to go and play with her ball successfully. I can’t wait to introduce more new words.

Much smaller than I expected.
I was just a little surprised at how small the product is. Will have to wait until after Christmas to see if the buttons were big enough for the large dog they were purchased for.
