I am a 17 yr old male with pretty long hair and my hair is very straight though. And was looking for something to give me a messy fringe look. I use a sea salt spray first with a hairdryer. Then I apply 1 pump of this cream and apply it in circular motions from back to front to add some texture and body, but leaves my hair slightly damp doesn’t do much. Then I use a hairdryer, and when I use a hairdryer with this, whilst rubbing hand in circular motions, the texture I get is insane, and makes my hair wavey and slightly curly even, and I then add some hairspray to lock my fringe and texture into it place, and It looks perfect, exactly how I wanted. I don’t know if it’s advertised, but to me this is best applied to dry hair, but once applied it really need to be given a hairdryer to really maximise the texture and overall effect of this product. And the overall effect is second to none, extremely impressed. However if the scent of this to me is like burnt toast, not very pleasant and a pretty strong smell too. But not an issue as the hairspray I use smells really good and so removes the issue.

I purchased this because my usual Redken Rough Clay 20 was out of stock. This has absolutely no hold compared and gives no texture. It feels quite soft and wet. I’ve decanted it into my empty rough clay container in the hope it might dry out a bit. I have a short messy pixie cut, which my hair goes into fairly naturally, so I’m not needing it to Lift and hold as such, but just to mess it up a little. My hair didn’t look any different using this product to what I can do with a quick blast of the hairdryer and no product. From the other reviews others seem to like it, but if you need texture/messy look, go for the Redken Rough Clay 20, which also has less of a smell. Unfortunately a lot of these products tend to be aimed more at men, scent wise.

Just a small amount rubbed in the palms of your hands and run through the hair , scrunching a bit and it gives hair a bit of body..
