Great value for money.
Bought this to use with an old pair of Kef Carina 2 speakers that I have had sat in the loft for years. Going to use them with an airplay receiver for a do we will be having in the garden. First impressions were good, nicely packaged, the overall look is of above average quality.Set it up, impressed with the volume and quality. (as commented on by other reviewers, the light around the volume control is a bit over the top) Plenty of volume even with my Kef speakers, which I would not class as particularly sensitive.Agree with other reviews about the tone controls having a negative effect on the sound quality, so I did experiment a bit with this, and I think the issue is that at the mid point of the bass and treble is not a flat response. I adjusted the bass and treble controls until switching from direct to tone enabled made no difference to the sound. The dials were then just past 2 o clock for the treble, and just past 1 o clock for the bass. From this starting point the bass and treble can be adjusted to suit your own preference. The tone adjust appears to be over a fairly narrow frequency range, so does impact sound quality if you adjust more than a small amount.Overall, very impressed with this for the money. Not the same quality as my Denon system, but then I would not expect it to be for the money. Is it good enough for a party with a few folks round, or good quality background music? Absolutely. Good enough for serious Hi Fi listening? Not really.

the Lepy Lepy ending
The Lepy 2024A plus amplifier is a great little piece of tech, not only is it small and therefore easier to position on your desk or wherever you keep your dac but it's also super cheap with a great price to performance ratio, the build quality is good and the product arrives in a well packaged and padded cardboard box, the knobs for the volume, bass and treble aren't bad but I can tell that they aren't metal like the body and are probably just painted which is a shame because it means it will probably were off with time and the knobs are also, I think, one of the most important features of an audio interface seeing it's the part you actually come in contact with. Initially the knobs seemed to scratch against the body whilst turning but that seems to have stopped after only two days of use which is great. For the price point though this is really nothing to complain to much about. The sound that comes out is great and punchy and the treble and bass do actually change significantly depending on how you regulate them which is really useful for highlighting a certain shade of the song you're listening to. The product feels and looks durable which is great and I just hope the internals are to be the same. the light ring around the volume knob is far too bright which can be very annoying even during the day and at night it's unbearable so much so that you're forced to not face forward whilst at your desk and listening to music, I oftebn resort resort to turning the device off whn not in use but if I'm using after 9 o'clock I just position myself somewhere else which isn't a problem for me but may be for anyone thinking of buying this product, it would have been much better if the volume knob but all the knobs in general would click whilst turning so that you could have some tactile feedback whilst adjusting the knobs, the light ring around the volume knob is cool and a good idea but it wasn't implemented correctly, if the light bar turned on up to where you had the volume adjusted it would have been great but however high your volume is the light is always fully bright all the way around the volume knob meaning you can never really tell how high your volume is unless you can find the tiny metal tac on the knob which is very hard to see. The fact that it takes two inputs is great because it means you can hook it up to your computer alongside something else which is great. Overall for the price you can't really go wrong with this product but there some things to keep in mind. I really reccomend this product and I think that anyone on a tight budget should really take it into consideration.

great little amp, ideal as basis for DIY multiroom.
Great little amp. Let me explain what I was trying to do and why I chose this amp. Basically I wanted to pipe music into my large kitchen with high ceilings. I already have a good AV/Hifi setup in the lounge, with full size speakers and surround speakers. I wanted to have the same music piped to the kitchen. I mostly use Spotify. I wanted to do it all on the cheap, and also because I find it fun to source all the bits myself and get a solution which is not "off the shelf". SO I bought a MUZO Cobblestone wifi streaming thingy (find it also under DIGIFUNK here on Amazon). Tested that with some tiny pc speakers and worked fine, but wanted something beefier to fill the room. I had a couple of old Bose Acoustimass speakers which I mounted on on the wooden beam which stretches across my kitchen. I bought this little amp based on the predominantly positive reviews, and was not disappointed. Hooked up to the Bose speakers it sounded good but lacking in bass, which is what I would have expected as the Bose speakers are very small. I now needed a passive sub I could somehow wire in. Got a passive Pioneer sub from Richer Sounds for £4.99 yes £4.99. It is very solid but quite low profile which is what I wanted so I could put it out of sight on top of kitchen wall unit and hidden by the pelmet. Of course the Lepy amp lacks a connection for anything except left and right speakers, but looking on the net I found plenty of people simply feeding a passive sub (passive meaning a subwoofer without its own built-in amplifier) by hooking its wires into either the left or right speaker connections on the amp. I also read all sorts of horror stories warning against this, talking about frying the amp, overheating etc. but as is usual with me I just ignored the warnings thinking - what's the worst that can happen ? All I can say is I have had this working for over a week now, listening for several hours a night at about half to two-thirds volume. It is a revelation - with the passive subwoofer it has transformed it into a rich and open sound, very detailed, with plenty of bass, but not overpoweringly so. If I add up what I paid: £17.99 for the amp, £4.99 for the Pioneer subwoofer, £40 for the wireless Muzo Cobblestone, I have got myself a multiroom system for the princely sum of £63. Now I know you can get a bluetooth speaker for less than that, but with a proper wifi device like the Muzo hooked up to this amp and proper speakers, you get much better range, and by using a half decent pair of existing speakers you might have knocking about I can't see how you would ever get that quality of sound with a bluetooth speaker. Getting back to the amp, some people have said the tone controls are rubbish. I haven't found that to be the case at all. In fact I prefer the sound with the treble turned up to just over halfway and the bass at about two thirds the way up. Each to his own I suppose. The volume is plenty for me - I can't see a situation where I would ever want to turn this up full. I am right on the edge of annoying the neighbours as it is. I have not been able to get the amp warm at all. It is as cool as anything. Oh, and it's size means you can mount it discreetly, in my case under the overhang of kitchen worktop island unit. All in all a great little Chinese made amp that does exactly what it says. If only I could turn it on and off remotely like I can my AV receiver but for 17.99 what can one expect. Very pleased !
