First Arcade Stick
If this is your introduction to the arcade stick/fightstick world then this stick is an amazing pick, it’s very cheap when compared with other common “first sticks” and for the quality of product you receive it is certainly worth the money, I personally bought Sanwa Deshi buttons, a Sanwa Deshi joystick and a Qanba octagonal gate for my joystick so I only used the stock buttons for about a day but ran into zero issues with it, I’ve had one since February at this point and I’m only just now considering moving onto a TE2+ by Madcatz as it is a pretty small stick so it may move from time to time on your lap but I’ve never really had any major issues with this, it’s great for all your fighting game needs, works absolutely fine with anything from Street Fighter to Tekken to BlazBlue to Dragonball FighterZ, Killer Instinct and Skullgirls, you name it and it’ll be an amazing asset to your game! Could not recommend enough, was my first stick and I would honestly love to see more models from Venom as this was an amazing product! As you can see in the first image I swapped the buttons/stick for blue Sanwa parts, although I love the Venom red, blue is my favourite colour so I swapped it out, the second photo shows the back, all you need to do to mod this fightsick is take the screws out that are visible on the plate on the back and it’s a very simple job of moving a few wires and putting new buttons in and unscrewing the joystick, another amazing feature of this product is the fact that it works on both Xbox One and PS4 (and PC) which is a blessing as most arcade sticks only work for one console and being an owner of both (due to me loving the Xbox for years but most exclusives for fighting games being PS4) it is great that I don’t have to get a converter just to be able to use the stick, I love this thing to pieces and anyone considering getting a first fightstick should undeniably choose this over any of the other ‘cheap beginner’ sticks, no faults whatsoever!!

Thinking of trying a stick?
This stick is quite affordable, half the price of your more professional sticks, this is the perfect stick in my opinion for new players to fighting games, and also probably a good one if you want some old school controls for classic arcade games.I went very far with this stick on Tekken 7, and could of gone even further, it has everything you need with great functionality. Now that I have a Hori arcade stick I can make some comparisons. This stick is quite light, and the buttons quite "clacky", it responds great, and the stick is also really easy to use. Overall, it is built quite loosely, over time, I realized that having a little more tension is better for me. The buttons are plain, they have no matte finish or anything like that to deal with sweat. It has very little quality of life features. To be clear; there is nothing really wrong with this stick and it works great, there are just a lot of things that could be BETTER than it is, and most of those you will be unable to notice unless you have experience and habits with fight sticks already. If you are on a budget, and not sure you want to get a stick, you should try this, but if you have double the money and you know for sure you are going to commit to it, just skip this and get some authentic like the Hori RAP. You won't use this forever, it is an entry stick for a decent price and I give it 4 stars for that. Eventually though, you will realize the subtle differences of what seperates this cheap stick from a premium, for instance hitting diagonals up or down can be pretty imprecise, and the looseness of the buttons can result in misinputs. Just some minor inconsistencies which over time you will not tolerate as a serious player

Highly recommend cross platform fight stick.
Love it.I am completely new to fighting sticks and am struggling to be honest which I thought might be the case and hence why I'd didnt get an expensive one, plus you can upgrade all the buttons and joystick in the future if you want. I did initially try a used Mad catz sf4 TE but sent back due to condition, now I have the Venom I felt no difference in the buttons so I don't think you need to upgrade any parts unless you're a fighting game fanatic, but then you wouldn't want a cheaper stick in that case.Apart from my lack of skill, the stick itself is brilliant, the buttons are responsive as is the joystick, my only issue is the square gate as I'm finding it hard with Ryu on SF, I'll probably try to mod that.I purchased a used one via Venom and the thing looks like new, very happy. This does work with the Switch too but it needs a firmware update, all you need to do is contact Venom who send the update files to update the firmware, all done in 5 mins and works a treat (why don't venom put these on their website?), you can't use the Mayflash F300 files.I guess the only thing is the lack of palm rest, it is there but angled, but I didnt want a large unit taking up room so it's just a trade off, its certainly not uncomfortable. The unit is a good weight so very sturdy.Overall I'm very happy although I'm not sure it has made me any better at fighting games. The biggest plus is the cross platform use... this is a bargain.

One Star
Really cheap feeling and very very noisy, some of the buttons stuck very often also. Avoid avoid avoid.

Avoid seller refurbished
A decent little stick, cheap and cheerful as well as moddable if you're looking for better performance. However, if you see it available be wary of the cheaper version, apparently "refurbished" by Venom UK themselves. My unit works fine (although I replaced the stick and buttons anyway) but it arrived filthy, as if sent directly from the previous owner. One of the internal screws that keeps the stick itself in place was loose and rattling about inside the case.Otherwise it's fine, I was able to strip it down and clean it as I was modding it anyway. Possibly still worth the price, just keep in mind that Venom's definition of refurbished might not quite meet your own.
