Good quality toy
I bought this for my son's first birthday. He enjoys playing with it. I find the quality fine despite what some may have said in their reviews. There are no chips to the wooden box of blocks and all blocks have a good even coat of paint on them. The blocks fit well through the holes they're supposed to. The lid does slide in and out easily. Some people have noted this as a criticism but I find it good as my son would struggle with a stiff lid. I've never seen it bother him that it's so easy to remove. If the blocks fall out... sure, more fun putting them back! Anyhoo... I like this and thought it was good value. The one I have has no problems and on that basis I'd recommend it.

Shape Sorting Cube - a gift for my Grandson's 1st birthday
I would highly recommend the Shape Sorting Cube toy as a good quality toy. I purchased it as a gift for my grandson's first birthday, the toy was a bit too advanced for him but that didn't stop him playing with the coloured shapes... I think that once he understands that the coloured shapes fit into the coordinating holes this toy will be played with all the time (incidentally, his older brother who is almost 3 understood what he had to do with the shapes and he really loved the toy. Lots of lovely bright colours and no nasty sharp corners. I was very pleased with my choice and also very pleased with the price which was much, much cheaper than the RRP of this toy. Thank you.

Excellent shape sorting cube
Great for 3 year olds. Cover is too loosely fitted (& blutack is hardly a satisfactory solution). Box can be rattled to allow insertion of all the impressively solid & chunky wooden shapes - which I would have liked to have been itemised (i.e. parallelogram, cuboid, pentagon, hexagon, quatrefoil etc.) On balance: superb item - highly recommended.

great toy
just received the cube, its light, thus great for kids, the blocks are solid. honestly after reading few reviews I did not expect much, but I was nicely surprised. my cube has a sliding wall, so I does not open unwanted, I reckon you need to be lucky to buy the right cube from a right seller, as for me its A+, can't fault it... most importantly my daughter likes it and she gets exited when blocks makes noise when pushed inside its also well designed because no blocks can go inside unless they are placed in the right hole (I tried!!!!) as some other sorters allow you to cut corners... its great value for money as I paid under £10 including postage..

Safety is a concern for this toy
I thought this would be really great for our baby. The complexity is just right for 7-8 months old who can grab objects confidently. However, I have concerns about the safety. The baby wants to chew (naturally that's what they do!) on the wooden blocks which are hard. Sometimes she would start throwing or hitting the block against own body and again it proves to be very hard ending in a cry. Also all external edges are smoothed into curved shape but not the lid. The lid has all sharp angles and the first thing our girl did was actually taking off a lid and almost piercing her eye hitting above on the eyebrow. I thought she would cut it open as the corners are really hard and pointy. Not good.

A good, well built toy
I bought this for my now 7 month old, she mainly uses the shapes as chew toys, but I can see she's getting interested in looking at all the different shapes as time goes on. Considering how much she eats them the paint job looks good and shows no sign of wearing off. No rough edges or dirty marks. Good quality product.
