This product is worth its weight in gold against midges and mosquitoes.
100% effective against all mosquitoes and midges. I absolutely highly recommend this product after using it every day in the Highlands of Scotland whilst overseeing the construction of windfarms in remote areas. Hats with face covering veils were used, alongside other insect repellents against the clouds of midges and mosquitoes without success. It was only when the local inhabitants recommended this product that we tried its effectiveness. The local villagers were not wrong! It surpasses anything we have tried before and is seemingly free from any adverse chemical that may affect the skin whilst easy to apply with a pleasant subtle fragrance once applied.I will admit, it works faultlessly for 8 hours but does need a second application after a full 8-9 hours of full protection

Reliable Midgie Defence – A Must-Have for the Scottish Outdoors
Reliable Midgie Defence – A Must-Have for the Scottish OutdoorsI bought the Smidge Insect Repellent Cream ahead of a recent trip to the Highlands, and I’m so glad I did. With Scotland’s notorious midgie population, I needed something that really worked, and Smidge absolutely delivered. The cream goes on smoothly without feeling greasy, and the scent is surprisingly pleasant – not overpowering or chemical-heavy like some other repellents. What really impressed me was its staying power. I was outdoors for hours, walking through wooded and lochside areas where midges were swarming, and I came away bite-free. It held up well even when I started to sweat or got caught in a drizzle, which makes it ideal for hiking and camping. The fact it also protects against ticks, mosquitoes, and horse flies is a real bonus. It’s safe for the whole family (over 30 months), which gives peace of mind, especially if you're travelling with kids. I now keep a tube in my rucksack during spring and summer. Whether you're out walking, gardening, or just enjoying a summer BBQ, this is a brilliant product for anyone living in or visiting midgie country.

Effective and Long-Lasting Protection!
I recently used the Midge Insect Repellent on a hiking trip, and it worked wonders! This repellent kept the midges and other pesky insects away, even during peak bug season. It provides long-lasting protection, so I didn’t have to reapply it constantly, which was a huge plus during outdoor activities. The 75ml size is perfect for taking on the go—small enough to fit in a backpack or pocket, yet it lasts through multiple uses. The spray is easy to apply, non-greasy, and doesn’t leave an unpleasant smell like some repellents. It’s a must-have for anyone planning a camping trip, hike, or any outdoor activity in midge-heavy areas. If you're looking for reliable insect protection, this Midge Insect Repellent is a solid choice. Definitely recommend!

Worked for me
Went to Maldives for two weeks and everyone else on the island were being eaten alive using Deet. I used this every day and had three bites over the whole two weeks. It actually smells quite nice too - not strong at all. It dries in quickly and doesn't leave any sticky residue. This is definitely going in my suitcase whenever I go away from now on!

Smidge the best defense against the wee beastie, so far
Smidge is the only real midge defense against the Scottish West Highland Midge, it is great and hands down the best on the market against this ravenous wee beastie but it is by no means a complete protection solution, sadly, you do not become invisible to them as described in the sales patter but compared to any other product on the market it is far superior as a deterrent and the longevity of how long it acts as a deterrent, you will still get bitten but you won't get feasted upon as it seems those that bite do not release the usual pheromone after biting calling the other ladies to lunch, as anyone who has looked into the problem knows it is only the female midge who bites, natures ultimate proof that the female of the species is far deadlier than the male.Bottom line, if you are visiting Scotland in midge season then grab a bottle of this or two but don't forget your midge headnet, when it gets really bad you will still breath them in as the clouds gather in the co2 you breathe out and the odd wee beastie has a taste of your exotic flesh regardless how much Smidge you have on.To give an understanding of my midge experience, i regularly wild camp in Scotland in peak midge season and don't use a tent as i backpack light and live wild for up to a month at a time fishing, hunting and foraging as i go, i have tried every single product on the market both foreign and domestic and every time a new product comes out i immediately test it and Smidge is the benchmark to beat, chemical and natural and Smidge beats them al but it could still be improved onl, the only product that comes close in protection level is Wilmas Nordic Summer but as it is in a paste form it is not half as easy to apply over large areas of flesh, Smidge is a spray and you can cover your whole body in seconds if you wanted to, trust me at times you will want to

Need more than a smidge
Barely any fragrance, applies easily and didn't cause any irritation.Unfortunately it also didn't do an awful lot for 70% of users.I ended up resorting to this in conjunction with jungle, peppermint oil and the headnet and received no bites. Yay.Others used this liberally and received lots of bites, funnily enough moreso in the places this was applied!Spoke to locals in notorious blackspots for midges who sell this product and they didn't rate its effectiveness.I guess it works.. ish for some and not at all for others. It is much nicer to use than many alternatives though.
