Good topcoat.
Was a little unsure of this topcoat after reading other reviews and comments. However I am very pleased with it. I would say it’s last incredibly well on toes. I usually lose polish from my toes easily within a day this makes it last weeks. Not quite as long on fingers chips after few days might be my poor technique in application. It dries quickly and gives a reasonably good shine to nail. Will likely purchase again.

Amazing product
I was very doubtful about this product but it really does work - it dries fast and rock hard and the varnish underneath is turned solid too - none of that dire time when it is soft seemingly forever ( I have even gone to bed and had woven imprint on toe nails from bed linen and had to apply another top coat in the morning).Anyway, I digress, this time "topcoat" was Seche Vite Professional Top Coat and it did what it promised - dried my coloured varnish hard and itself hard and super shiny very quickly indeed. There was a hint of colour on the brush from the varnish it was put on top of - next time I may wait a little longer for the coloured varnish to dry a little longer. I applied two coats of Seche Vite. I even tried to dent my toe nail varnish with my thumb nail and could not - it was totally set hard.I was not brave enough to use as directed - straight onto wet varnish.I am looking down at my toe nails now - the varnish is stil unchipped after 8 days and my feet have been in and out of the sea and the sand has only v. v. vaguely dulled the high shine. In fact I am now wondering how easily all this will come off my nails!UPDATE: I removed all polish after about 3 weeks. Because of natural nail growth, there was now a small gap between varnish and 'half moon' so with a finger nail I was able to lift off the Seche Vite like a skin off some of my toes, leaving the coloured varnish behind - in fact on a couple of toe nails the whole lot peeled away (not the nail obvs !) which was fine with me as my toe nails are healthy and strong and it just meant a quick swipe over with varnish remover, follwed by a soak and a drench of Gardeners Hand Therapy (GHT) - which is another awesome product for making nails (*) as tough as old boots. (* eventually - you will have to use it every single night until total nail growth has grown from bottom to top - so it is a long haul depending how quickly your nails grow - I used to have very thin finger nails and now they are very strong - I have been using GHT without fail every single night for 8yrs or so. Defo worth purchasing - it lasts for ages.)

This isn’t a normal top coat! It can’t be applied like one!
Okay so after reading the reviews and seeing quite a few negative ones I was nervous. How could such a lauded product just fail for some people? I think I know the answer thanks to trial and error and a few google searches.1 - this needs to be applied on WET or TACKY polish. Forget all you know about top coats and you’ll get it. This product should be applied before your polish has finished drying because it doesn’t just sit on top of it, it bonds through all the layers of polish and onto your natural nail. It hardens everything and seals it in to make it last. If your polish is dry it cannot do that. It also can’t be applied to bare nails, so if you just want shiny bare nails stick with a cheap top coat that can be applied that way. This one just can’t be used like that.2 - it needs to be applied quite thickly. So again forget what you know about nail polish, thin coats of this won’t work. Get a good bead of it on the end of the brush then swipe it down the nail, moving it gently to cover all of it and DONT LET THE BRUSH TOUCH THE POLISH UNDERNEATH! This will stop it from working and it’ll just peel off.3 - Seal the edges of the nail! So with whatever is left on your brush after you’ve applied it to the nail go around the tip of the nail to seal it in. This will stop the top coat and polish from shrinking back and leaving the tips bare or prone to chipping. It’s not just a swipe on and go type of product, it has a learning curve but once you’ve got it you’ll never look back. And finally Four - it takes minutes to dry to the touch however it takes 20-25 mins to dry to the point that you can touch it and it won’t wrinkle. So leave it alone. It then takes up-to an hour or more for it to fully harden and set to become dent proof. So don’t wait 10 minutes and start poking at the nail, it will dent. I left mine over an hour and when I remembered to check it nothing could dent my nails. They are solid! All in all it’s an amazing product but it definitely needs to come with better instructions, I was so frustrated with it until I found blog posts explaining how it has to be used and I followed them. My nails are set and hard now, I still had some issues with application because it’s so thick but it’s like anything, once you get the hang of it you’ll be doing it perfectly every time. My nails are so so shiny and I’m excited to see how long they last because traditional polish never lasts more than a day on my hands. I typically have to use gel polishes but they are a pain to do on yourself. I hope this review helps anyone that’s struggled with this product or thinks it doesn’t work. It’s not your fault, the company should provide all this information but for some reason you have to find it yourself. I will continue to use it if it lasts like it promises. I’ll update in a few days time to check in with how it looks.

Dries very quickly bonus!
Bought this after reading the good reviews. It has proved to do what it actually says! It hardens within seconds approx.10 - 15 in my experience which is a massive bonus if you're in a hurry.Instructions say to apply while naiil colour is still wet. I have, and no,it does not smudge! I've even noticed that if I put the wet brush back into the bottle immediately after applying the colour it does not affect the seche vite the colour is still clear. It does seem to last a reasonably long time although it has varied between 3- 7 days so overall not bad.The only very minor detail I'd point out is that occasionally the tips of my nails sometimes appear to be missing a millimeter or two of varnish but that could be down to me rather than the product. That is the reason for the 4 stars as opposed to 5.However I would say I would still buy again if only for the fact it dries super quick, leaves a decent sheen and is overall really good value for money.

Really works, easy to use, super glossy finish
I was sceptical that this would work as advertised but so sick of polish chipping after 2-3 days that I thought I'd give it a go.Having read some of the reviews about application being difficult or it not working, I had a look online first and read that it needs to be applied while the last coat of nail polish is still tacky and that it needs to be applied much more thickly and gently "floated" over the last coat to avoid smearing. I also ignored the reviewers saying that they were "digging in their handbags for keys" after 5 minutes, as I read online that it would be touchable by then but wouldn't be rock solid for 20 minutes.I did an Essie base coat followed by three coats of OPI Kermit Me To Speak and then I applied the Seche Vite top coat. My first attempt was my right pinky finger and you can see in the photos that I was not gentle enough and I managed to smear the polish in the center of the nail and partly remove it. I applied a thicker coat to the rest of my nails and was extra gentle and had no trouble with them. I then waited 5 minutes before testing to see if the Seche Vite had set. By that point, it was definitely touchable but I was able to put a tiny dent into it with a fingernail. I gave it another 20 minutes to fully dry out as I was just watching TV anyway. By then it seemed to have set solid enough for me to go to bed and not worry about getting sheet imprints. By the morning it really seemed to have set solid. I had to press quite hard to get a dent into it with my fingernail. Quite hard to describe the finish - it's not just a super glossy topcoat, it's like there's a protective layer of plastic on the nail. The photos show day one of my manicure on the cream background. The rest of the photos with my blue tablet in the background are after six days of wear. I have a desk job where I do a lot of typing, but I don't do much other manual work other than chores around the house. After 6 days, I didn't notice any difference in the glossiness of the top coat and, on close inspection, the only points of wear were around the very edges of my fingernails mostly on my thumb and index fingers (see photos). From a normal distance, my nails still looked as perfect as the day I did them except for the millimeter or two of growth at the base.I would highly recommend this for prolonging the life of a home manicure and I will be buying the big refill bottle of this for sure.

Still needs a bit of waiting after applying
Use it on wet nail polish, wait 5 minutes and it will be surface dry and not smudge if you lightly glide your fingers over it. But if you push on the nail slightly, it will be wet on the inside and dent, only the surface is dry. Wait about 30 minutes (60 for 2 thick layers of nail polish) and it will be completely dry. I used regular cheap nail polish, so this is definitely what dried it so quickly. Still better than waiting 4+ hours to be able to do anything with my hands.

Best top coat ever
This is hands down the best top coat for standard nail varnish. I've always done my own nails and personally just prefer standard nail varnish to gels etc. This top coat goes on well, the shine is amazing and it dries to the touch very quickly. Advice/points to note - on a good quality varnish I've had it last a week easily, less on lower quality but the finished shine is still fab. I find if it does chip it's probably more to do with the adhesion of the base varnish to the nail plate than the top coat. Less is more, the finish is so much better if you can do a single coat in a few strokes. Doing a second often results in drag. Best way to do it is to get a nice bead/glob on end of the brush. A drop is too much if you know what I mean/you'll see. There can be some shrink back but you can avoid it if you properly cover all of the under polish and seal the tips. Keep a moisturiser of some kind near by, when you're done smooth some on the pads of your fingers then gently over the top coat. I Promise if the coat isn't too thick it should just smooth over perfectly. Also if it starts to thicken in the bottle - it is quick drying after all - all is not lost. It responds well to a drop or two of pure acetone to loosen it up again.

Top Coat, I bow to you
I have been reading about this brand of topcoat for so long now. I do not know why I never bought it until recently. I think maybe the price had something to do with it. After all I thought it was just clear nail polish and I can get that at the dollar store.Am I glad that I finally took the plunge and bought a bottle.I am not what they call someone who spends a lot of time on "cuticle care" (Pitch Perfect reference *high5*) I keep my nail shorts because they tend to chip & break easily if I do not. I love nail polish colors, God knows I have plenty of them.Just recently I got my first "gel mani", boy, was I ever impressed. It was awesome. The color I chose was a beautiful green color that resembled something you'd see on a tropical island, it was so shiny and strong. I went swimming, playing in the sand, playing in the ocean, doing all kinds of outdoorsy stuff on my vacation, and not one chip was to be seen.In fact it was not until the 12th or 13th day that I noticed the color was coming off from the bottom up, noticed the top down. Which is what I like.Back to SECHE VITE DRY FAST TOP COAT: when I am not doing a gel manicure (which is always) I like my normal polish manicure (with a little bit of nail art on ring fingers to make me feel pretty) to last as long as humanly possible. Not only does this topcoat make my polish last days longer, it also makes my nails incredibly shiny, and it is helping them to grow stronger and longer.I am using a vitamin filled base coat to help my nails grow strong (Orly), I use a coat of this on top of the base coat, then I put my color , then I use this as my topcoat/quick dry, and I let it dry for about 20 minutes before I do anything.I have found that quick dry topcoats, quick dry sprays and drops, etc. Are not really quick dry at all. In fact when you try to use your nails too quickly after applying the quick dry topcoat, you will find smudges/ridges, and your nails become messy. I believe it helps the polish to dry a couple of minutes faster, but not immediately. The quick dry labeling lulls you into a false sense of security. I am sure many of us out there have used a quick dry product only to end up having to redo our nails. To wrap it up I think that this product is outstanding. I can see what all of the hype is about, and I'm still not sure whether it is worth the price, but I believe it is money well spent, for me anyways.I found that this product has done what it says it will do. Except for the quick dry thing. I believe it dries nails quicker, but not the quickest. Or completely.I like using this polish on top of my base coat. There are times when I want to go polish free, but I like to use the vitamin enriched base coat to strengthen and lengthen my brittle nails. This topcoat not only enhances the vitamin base coat it also adds a beautiful shine.
