great little present
I originally bought some of these for my son to keep him amused ( he was about 7). The book has lots of different designs in it which are graded in terms of how easy or how hard they are to do (they are a little subjective I found at times). It also has some great paper designs for the areoplanes. I have to say that this is good value because even when the paper is spent you still have a book that they are going to use and come back to time and time again to make their areoplanes. They are a good little project, they can be competitive about it but utimately it is a fun thing to do and more interesting than just making the one sort that I used to make as a child. I have also found them to a be a great children's present for partys as the price is about right and it fits both my party present criteria of being something that can be simply thrown away when used (and being paper can be recycled) and the book to be thin enough to just be put away easily and tidily and can be reused.

Great Book
I brought this as a gift for my 6 year old grandson. He absolutely loved it. The book has 10 designs of aeroplane and explains how to make them with clear instructions. Also included with the book is different coloured, good quality paper to make the paper aeroplanes with. As my grandson is only 6 he needed help with some of the aeroplanes but some he made by himself following the diagrams. Would definitely recommend as a gift for the young and the old! Hours of fun, not only making the aeroplanes, but throwing and having 'who can fly the longest' competitions afterwards. And so nice to see a young child fully engaged and enjoying an activity that does not involve a computer screen!

Brilliant!!!!!
Got this for my grandson. He loves making paper aeroplanes and flying them with grandad. The planes are too difficult for a 5 year old to fold, but grandad makes them, and grandson loves flying them. The paper included is beautiful quality. Buying another one as my son in law absolutely loved the book and wanted one too!! Brilliant purchase loved by a 5, a 40 and a 72 year old. Highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent book for Dads and sons!
Hunting through Amazon for suitable presents for my 10 yr old daughter and 8 yr old son, I encountered Klutz for the first time. I was struck by how positive the reviews were - in fact nobody seemed to have a bad word to write about their products. I was a little suspicious at first. Were Klutz employees writing these reviews driven the reward of extra large chocolate buns in the Klutz canteen or even large bonuses?! Amazon reviews can be a bit like Trip Advisor with some people feeling the power of the keyboard and awarding one star just to spoil a product's record! I decided to put some of their products to the test and bought 6 Klutz books for my children. The Klutz book of Paper Airplanes gives detailed instructions for 10 designs. Each design is graded 1-5 stars depending on how difficult it is to construct. You get 40 sheets of coloured paper at the back of the book to make the planes with. You could, when this runs out use other appropriately sized paper. The instructions are really clear and well written. Interspersed with these are information on the theory and mechanics of flying the planes and trouble shooting tips. Many of these planes can be flown inside or outside. However, Sheffield in winter does not offer many suitable venues. My children developed this game where they would take it in turns to bend over and challenge the other one to hit his or her bottom from the other side of the living room. We have also taken 2 to church and, when most of the congregation has left, launched them from the balcony. One narrowly missed a still lit candle and today one flew nearly to the front of the church. My wife is deeply embarrassed but the minister does say it is the best church in the world and we haven't got into trouble yet!! As a Dad, I have loved this book. It is great fun, beautifully laid out and all the designs work. My son likes it too. It is the sort of book you want to keep and hopefully my son will revisit in the coming years as he gets older.

Brilliant
I bought this for my 8 year old son as an extra thing to open on Christmas Day. We’ve just opened it up, read the tips and made our first plane. It’s brilliant. Good for focus, concentration and bonding.

To use this book properly you need patience and a steady hand. The designs are not overly complex, but they are very detailed and very specific. You will want to have a ruler and a hard flat surface ready so you can make the sharp folds and creases. If you perform the steps and measurements exactly you will get wonderful areodynamic novelties that will last for a good while of play (provided they are handled carefully). My Sister's children loved watching and helping me fold the sheets and then having contests to see whose design flew the furthest, fastest etc. The steps are easy and intuitive, but demanding in their exactness. There are tips for flying and for converting parts of the aircraft to help them perform various tricks. For the price you can't beat it. You get awesome aircraft designs and paper to construct them and it's all enclosed in a hard binding.
