Does the d7500 support a lens with a hsm motor in auto mode such as the sigma 150mm-600mm as my d3300 does not

Yes it does - I frequently use the sigma 150-600C on my D7500

is this camera compatable with the SB-400 speedlight?

I have used my SB-400 & D7500, with no trouble at all, just as with my D3500. Great flashgun, great cameras. I'm thinking of buying a SB-500 as well for the swivel head.

How important is the 18-140 mm Lens and are there more capable;e lenses and how much heavier does it make the whole camera feel when filming wildlife?

I like this lens, but it’s not my choice for wildlife. I have got decent images of birds in flight (and of our dogs) using it, but if you’re serious about wildlife photography and are on a budget, I highly recommend a used 300/f4D for about £4-500. That is a serious lens and knocks spots off any (affordable) zoom.
