Not just for bathrooms
This is a review of 8 White Sparkle Diamond Effect PVC Bathroom Cladding Shower Wall Panels, which we bought (twice) from BCS Panels through Amazon. Bought this to do my kitchen, initially intending to do the area between the worktops and the wall units. Was so pleased with how easy this stuff is to work with that I ended up ordering another set of panels, which then allowed me to do all the walls in the kitchen. No problems with colour match between first batch and second batch, which is probably more down to luck than good judgement. We had considered using ceramic tiles to do the area between the worktops and the wall units, but to be honest that would have been a real ball-ache. None of the walls in this house seem to be completely straight or properly aligned, the plaster is uneven in places and after a lot of tile-cutting, sticking, grouting and tidying up it is still quite possible that the tiles would have looked fairly uneven and unprofessional. Then you have the periodic cleaning up and clearing out of the grout, especially in a fairly moist environment such as a kitchen. These panels avoid much of the aggravation involved with ceramic tiles and they’re also significantly cheaper. The downside, of course, is that plastic panels aren’t as robust as ceramic tiles. I discovered that when I accidentally dropped the section that I had cut to go over the top of the window blind, which then promptly came down and buried itself into the piece which I had placed on the window sill, damaging both pieces in the process. Yes, I was swearing at that point, but I can guarantee that I would have been swearing a lot more if I was dealing with ceramic tiles. The other big advantage is that I was paying less than five pounds per panel, and that includes delivery. Bargain! At 2.6 metres long these panels were long enough to stand from floor to ceiling when I did the two full-height sections of wall with the second batch of panels, as one of the photos shows. I had initially put the panels vertically along the top of the worktop on the longest wall, but eventually changed my mind and did a series of vertical strips instead, as the other photo shows. I tried different ways of attaching the panels to the walls. I tried with silicone sealant, Stixall and Everbuild Pinkgrip. All worked well. I also stuck a panel pin through the panel over the top of the blind to hold it in place whilst the grab adhesive was working, then removed the pin and stuck a blob of white silicone sealant in the tiny hole afterwards. I’m sure the manufacturer wouldn’t recommend that method of working their product but my DIY skills are fairly basic and it did the job. I was cutting the panels with a jigsaw mainly, but when necessary I was using a Stanley knife to trim smaller pieces to size and shape. The panels work on the same system as laminate flooring, where one side has a narrow white edge sticking out, then the other side has a wider white edge sticking out. The white pieces then slot into each other, leaving only the sparkly section showing. We love this product because it is so easy to work with and we would definitely recommend it. We love the fact that they look grey until the light hits them, then whoosh they become all multi-coloured and sparkly. We’re currently considering whether to put this up in the bathroom, too. Which begs the question, is it possible to have TOO MANY sparkles in your life?

Useful & attractive but a bit fragile
These are nice panels and actually look more attractive than the advert photo (mine are white, not that nasty grey-blue). They slot together quite well and I have in fact used them to line a shower cubicle with no apparent leakage problems. One downside: the panels are not solid plastic, they are hollow with very thin walls. This makes them light to handle but obviously much more fragile and brittle than I expected. So cutting holes, edges, etc with a knife or saw is easy in one sense but the edges can snap off in little chunks instead of cutting cleanly.

Brilliant product
This is the 2nd time we have used this cladding in our house now. Its easy to use good quality and looks lovely when finished. Great value for money aswell. 1st time we purchased this we thought ok let's just see when it arrives ( 2days we waited thats it) we were impressed with it so doing a 2nd bathroom we purchased it again and once again it arrived in 2 days and it didn't disappoint.

Definely Recommend these to anyone
Lovely Panels...We brought these to brighten up a old dull toilet room downstairs, easy to put on my partner has been able to do them himself instead of calling someone in, which is a bonus.... They have stuck great with sealent placed on the back and you cant see the joins when slotted together, Would recommend these and would buy again...Delivery has been quick and hassle free no problems their..... They are only a thin board so you do have to be careful when cutting you don't lean on them.....When on the walls they look perfect....Really happy with my purchase and will be having more real soon

Plastic wall cladding.
I didn’t fit this myself but it seemed an easy install, nice finish, cost effective alternative to tiles ( no grout to discolour)

Excellent product but measure accurately before making cuts
Easy to use, but need to ensure accurate measurements and recheck before making cuts. The PVC was slightly chipped on one side but just ensured this was part of my cut. Can be cut with Stanley Knife or fine tooth saw. Follow all the instructions or watch Utube demos to ensure a water tight and decorative finish, will definitely use again.
