I installed the BG Electrical Outdoor Double Switched Power Wall Plug Socket (Weatherproof, Nexus Storm) and it’s been solid. The weatherproof design gives peace of mind outdoors and the switches feel robust. Installation was straightforward, and it’s been reliable in all conditions so far. The build quality feels good and well worth it if you need a tough outdoor power solution.

Seems to be a well made and sturdy outdoor socket that seals effectively around the cable. I have not fitted it yet but I do not foresee any problems. The wiring it straight forward, If you have wired a socket in before, then there will be no problem with this one. Just make sure you are wiring it into the correct circuit, if you don't know, get someone who does.

So I decided to put a outdoor socket on my hut, I already have electric to the hut so it was just a matter of 3 core wire between the mains in the hut and the socket. It's just so easy to install, I didn't even bother with the instructions cos it's really straightforward. Take the back plate and pop one of the disks out for the cable to go through, then just screw the back plate to where the socket is needed. Then connect the cable to the front plate (as you would a plug) and then fasten the 4 screws that seal the front. I ran the cable underneath, so put some clear silicone in the hole to make sure no water gets in. ( Then you connect the other end to the mains and turn back on the fuse) Durability wise I have had one of these before and it's still good after about 5 years, quality wise it's perfect for my needs and it looks good. Just remember to fasten the bottom clips to make a waterproof seal.

Good sturdy double socket. Easy to follow instructions. Looks smart teamed with black plastic conduit. Doesn’t close fully with the bigger plugs like on a security camera or Christmas lights but if installed under cover outside like a porch it’s fine.

The installation was straightforward with clearly marked terminals and multiple cable entry points — even for a non-professional DIYer like me it was easy to fit. It’s priced well and performs just as well (if not better) than more expensive alternatives. Excellent quality item

I was pleased to discover that the socket could accommodate the power supply plug for my Reolink external camera. The sealing plugs for the wall fixings were a bit fiddly to fit. I like that you can see the LEDs through the cover.
