Smartwares Outdoor Halogen Floodlight with PIR Motion Sensor, 2 x 120W

Great light, so effective and has now made our front garden safe at night, was a deathtrap before! Easy to put up, so my husband said, but he had to spend a couple of days and nights popping up from behind cars on the driveway to test it and get the settings right!

I had a similar flood light system which gave up the ghost(PIR sensor mainly) after many years. This was a replacement but I have changed the halogen tubular bulbs for LED ones which work well.The best thing about this system is that it comes with a base that allows it to sit on the edge of a wall corner which others dont provide.That allows for greater spread of light over corner areas if needed as the two lights have adjustable faces/necks.

Easy to install and good quality however two of the screws were too long so I had to grind them to half the original length. Could do with more swivel to get a better angle along each side of the house. After all they are corner mounted so should project at 90 degrees to each other and not about 120 degrees. To achieve this a small design change is required

I bought this a couple of months ago I placed it outside my garage, it is still working it is bright, and the sensor is very sensitive at a reasonable distance, no complaints so far, good price as well.

We brought this to install at buttom of our garden on side of the garage.The light(s) are very bright and due to being able to position/ angle both lights is different positions, we where able to light all of the garden with this one unit.The motion range is very good.You can set how long the light stays on for once triggered before switches off again.Very happy with this.When looking in DIY shops, we found that security lights that where like this was 2 / 3 times more money then the price a paid for this item on on Amazon.

Bought 2,had one wired up and fitted to the wall and thr sensor dont work at all it just stays on regardless.Not happy at all as it has some really fiddly tiny bracket screws which had to be fitted in a tight spot.Too much hassle to unwire and take it all back down.Id suggest you wire up and check it works before fitting to the wall as i will be doing with the other one.Second light had missing screws inside to connect wires,absolute pain i had to go and buy connectors only to fit the light and the sensor didnt eork at all the light just stayed on then flicked off and straight back on again so ive had to cut the sensor off completley and buy one to wire to it.The whole experience has been a total ball ache im really not happy at all and suggest you DONT buy these.

They work, but the instructions are hard to follow as far as adjustment and understanding whether moon or sun setting does what! Plus, as someone else said you have to undo the brackets and the spend 15 minutes getting the nut back in place. Cheap and okay as opposed to nasty. Light is okay and the motion sensors work. I would NOT buy them again.So, in a nutshell, hard to put up due to the bracket, they work, the light is okay and the are small.

I took a risk buying this very competitively priced PIR floodlight. Easy to fit, compact and certainly bright enough for the purpose. A day or two required to adjust for optimum sensor setting but otherwise excellent.
