In the past I have just put up with saddle soreness figuring it was just a fact of life as a recreational cyclist and just dealt with it by showering after every ride and applying moisturising cream or talc when it was particularly bad.During summer I actually develop a kind of permanent dark red-ish rash area 'down there' between my legs which doesn't disappear even after the discomfort subsides.I heard of chamois creams but figured it was stuff just for the pros until I started to see it appear in mainstream shops and here on Amazon so I thought I'd give it a go.OK, so I've never used any other type of chamois cream so I have nothing to compare this to. This one seemed good value and had good reviews so that's why I chose it.After my first ride with Udderly Smooth I thought I must have been going slower as I had zero discomfort. I checked my Runtastic GPS log and all was normal! Result :-)After a week, 5 rides with no discomfort whatsoever I actually noticed the permanent dark rash area was beginning to fade and was less red. Now, after a month, it's completely gone and the temperatures have just been going up and up.I would share some before and after photos but a) I didn't expect this result so didn't take a before photo and b) Amazon might determine those kind of photos 'unsuitable'! But I'm telling the world, this has had visible results as well as eliminating saddle soreness.Anyway a good review always has photos so I've added some of Udderly Smooth on my fingers in the sweltering Cyprus heat!I guess I could try a different cream to do a proper comparison but since this is all about my comfort when cycling I think I'll just stick with Udderly Smooth as I know it works. I've got another tub already waiting for when this one runs out.The directions on the tub say to apply to the chamois (the padded bit in your cycling shorts) or directly to the skin. I put it straight onto the skin, it rubs in quickly and rinses off quickly. It takes less than half a minute before your ride so it's in no way an inconvenience.I know from the past that if you don't ride frequently or have been out of the saddle for a long time you'll be more prone to getting irritations down below. Don't put up with it any more, get some Udderly Smooth!Oh, one last thing - this kind of cream isn't just for \"cyclists' bottom\". Just completed the Yorkshire Wolds Way and I would I would give this a try. What a revelation!!! The whole week and zero, repeat, zero soreness. The cream comes in a large tub and I put enough to fill an old 35mm film canister (remember them?). It is white in colour and has the consistency of butter that is just going soft when you take it out of the fridge, so it is very easy to apply. It is almost odourless and I would say non-greasy too. It certainly didn't leave any grease marks on my ultra thin lightweight trousers. 5 days of walking and no redness. I also get rub between the top of the boot and woolen sock. I used this stuff here too and it started to clear up during the walk. I know this product is geared toward cyclists, but it also works a treat for us walkers too. Not to be used on a commute (IMO) but one that could be used on a chain gang ride of an hour to two at most etc.My reasoning behind this logic is simply based on the consistency of the product. The product is very thin, almost runny; take a scoop on your finger and it will drop off quite quickly. With the consistency of the product being what it is, the absorption rate into the pad is very quick and I suspect the same can be said for ones skin.For me, this isn't a cream I would rely upon to keep my pert derrière blister free. I use this cream when Zwifting on the turbo. I don’t ride a bike but I have chubby thighs and usually end up in so much pain over summer, especially on holiday. Took this with me to Italy, in 30-35*c this was so good. The door being completely unprepared for my 15st force closed in a rapid motion in an attempt to save its hinges.
