Galt Toys Shrinking Fairy Charms

My daughter was bought this for her 5th birthday and we spent a lovely couple of hours making the charms. My son and daughter coloured them in and then you just pop them in the oven for a few minutes and when they come out, they have shrunk to a rather sweet charm size. We found that you need to get the charms out of the oven one at a time and have a child ready with a book to bang it flat on the work surface as they curl up in the oven and after only a few seconds they have cooled enough to be too hard to straighten out. If this happens, you can simply put them back in the oven and they can then be straightened out. The kids loved banging a book on top of them to flatten them too. The charms have then shrunk enough to make even untidy colouring in look very neat which is an added benefit. The charms can then be added to necklaces and bracelets etc with the provided beads. A very pleasurable afternoon spent.

Purchased 2 of these sets 1 as a gift seemed well received, the second for my daughter (age 4.5) she thoroughly enjoyed making the jewellery up from the colouring to the baking (watching them curl up) to then thread them with the lovely mix of beads (will use a hot glue gun to attach to some of the fixings as the foam pads will be more of a temporary fix. have now purchased some more sets as will make nice gifts for my daughters friends for their upcoming birthdays :)

First time we've used these. They're great, easy to use and look cool. Pencils are provided but we used permanent markers as the effect was better. The box was big for what it was, but isn't that always the case?Bought a multi-pack of the shrinkies after, much better value and more creative as we get to draw what we want, but this product was great to dip our toes into the world of shrinking jewellery.

My daughter saw these on youtube & wanted them she loves them & only takes 1 minute in over great idea something different & keeps her occupied. Would recommend

Lovely little rainy day activity ... we did not use the colours provided but used some brighter ones we had as advised in another review... but great fun seeing them shrink ... some of the items don't come out flat and are misshapen but I don't mind that!

Turned up quickly. I would buy again. You don't get a lot for your money but if you compare prices for unprinted shrinking paper then it works out ok. This is good for younger children as the printed sheets don't leave much room for error and they look good even when scribbled all over.
