Whilst I'm unsure exactly what Redex consists of, for the right price, clearly it is worth buying and gets evidenced results. Amazon being an online retailer seems to be able to sell this consistently for near half of the price of UK high street retailers and whenever you can get these prices, I would recommend purchase. Firstly, at least in my one litre with turbo Ford Fiesta the milage results are clear and cost effective right from adding Redex to the fuel tank. It is also rumoured and evidenced on some online studies to albeit mildly increase engine output in terms of torque and speed. But more importantly, it protects the engine to ensure proper functioning and longevity which is our number one concern in relation to all domestic motor vehicles. Exactly what it does or how much by, I don't think we will ever know, but when you can purchase this for a completive price, the improved milage alone, it's worth it. You probably don't need to and won't see any real difference if you use it every tank like Redex suggest, but if you use it infrequently but consistently, I'm convinced it has serious benefits to ensuring your engine functions as it should for as long as possible. Please note that some cars have an tamper fuel insertion point, where a petrol filler station fuel nozzle is required to open the valve. This is in place to prevent theft primarily but also means you can't add products like Redex. For cars like this, including mine, an 'emergency fuel' adaptor is required. Redex don't make this clear and I feel they should, but these can be picked up very cheaply on the internet.

With the start of the gardening season around the corner February is when I start to think about getting the gardening tools ready for use. The petrol powered tools such as chainsaw, hedge cutter, lawnmower and pressure washer all get a small does of red ex mixed with some petrol. Then I run them till they cut out. It seems to help keep the carburettors clean and helps shift any gum that might have accumulated over the winter. Be caution on 2 stroke products as I would imagine it would have an impact on how well the oil can lubricate the bore and piston, so with the 2 stroke's I just let them idle till the fuel runs out. And in terms of fuel its only enough to just fill slightly more than the bowl of the carb. Been doing this for year and keeps the engines in tip top condition and ensures even after been in the shed for 6 months most start on the first or second pull. Its still worth ensure that you store your tools with no fuel as this new fuel on the market isn't great with the ethanol content. But I still think that this helps too!
