Soothes and prevents blisters
I scalded my hand removing sth from the microwave. I knew straight away it was quite a nasty scald, so I ran it under the cold tap. Then I remembered we had this gel pack. I stopped the tap, and tore the top off the pack. Inside there is a bandage impregnated with gel. If I'd hurt an arm or a leg I'd have taken the bandage out, but as I'd hurt my fingers I just put my hand in the bag. It was now about 5 mins since the scald happened, and my fingers were just starting to hurt. But the pain stopped as soon as I put them in the gel. It was extremely cool and soothing. Also, when you're stuck by a tap you can't do much, and it's tempting to stop and hope the burn will be ok. But with my hand in the bag I could leave it there and do other stuff, so I kept it on for about 20 minutes. I was amazed when I took my hand out. The pain had stopped, and I had no visible burn and no blister, then or later. The scald was quite a bad one, so I was very impressed. It happened at work, so I immediately ordered some of these bags for my own kitchen.

Excellent for adults and children
Dealt with a kitchen fat burn on myself and a bonfire night sparkler burn on a child. Excellent bit of kit you can leave on and bandage to the wound for few hours to cool and reduce pain. Massively reduces scarring.

Good
Arrived in good condition, I think it's a good product. I have use this before so it is a replacement.

A must-have for every home
I haven't used these yet but I have used the burnsheild gel before. I have also seen similar dressings used by paramedics, which worked wonders. I always like to have burnsheild products in the first aid kit since a recommendation from a fireman. I can't say enough good about burnsheild products. I've used it for small burns on fingers in the kitchen, to a large scald from a hot cup of tea. It instantly starts to take the sting out of burns and saves skin from the damage burns can cause. The spray is great as you don't have to touch the skin. I think it's an absolute must-have for all homes especially if you have children. It's a fab price too. Its one of the best things for emergencies I've spent a few quid on; probably because I've seen too many minor burns, and the associated pain people suffer ...needlessly.

Essential first aid for household burns and scalds. Cooling and soothing.
These packs, each containing a single square of hydrocolloid type dressing measuring about 4" x 4" are ideal for dressing burns or scalds. Best way to treat a scald or burn is to immediately run the area under cold, running water for ten minutes, or apply a pack of frozen peas over a wet cloth to the burn for ten minutes. Getting the area thoroughly cooled as soon as possible is essential. Then dry the area gently and apply the dressing. This dressing is quite wet and gunky, but it will sit nicely over the burn. If it folds up, or crumples, it's easy to straighten out. Over that, put some gauze, and secure with a bandage. As it's a very wet dressing, it will probably leak or drip through the gauze or bandage. If it does, and it's a nuisance, wrap some cling film round the bandage to stop the drips. These are nice, easy to use dressings for home use on typical minor household burns and scalds, and do give some relief. Get a few packs in before you need them. The burnshield spray is a very useful piece of kit as well.

A bit messy but fantastic results
I recently had a nasty accident with a burst hot water bottle and ended up in hospital with 2nd degree burns. Excruciatingly painful to the point where gas and air and a shot of morphine didn't help!!! I didn't have these at the time but used them a few days later to soothe the blistered painful areas. The sheets are big enough to cover half of the top of my arm I scalded from my elbow to my shoulder on one side and this covered it. I am not a big fan of the smell of tea tree oil BUT I wish I had had these in the first aid box at the time, it would have saved me so much pain and probably stopped blisters from forming. The sheets are very slippery as they are soaked in a gel like substance. So you will need either someone to hold it in place or some sort of bandage to keep it there. Everyone should have a pack of these in their first aid kit!!
