If you don't use the deodorant the floor is clean but can smell musky for a while. The deodorant makes floor and room smell better and cleans the floor better. Well worth using and the deodorant one fill last for two fills of the water reservoir. We like the lemon smell but the other scents are almost just as good, just a matter of taste. The VAX steamer is very good and quick to use.

July 2024 - £12.45 for 1 litre ... shame it doesn't use petrol instead ... Well, when you've spent so much on the machine, better to get the manufacturer's own solution ... if you need that warranty claim, they might just find some residue of some cheaper universal cleaning solution in there and leave you to steam yourself - even if it is genuinely a manufacturer fault. They all love a good get-out clause, probably why they charge so much for the detergent. I bought the VAX Steam Fresh Total Home Steam Cleaner direct from Vax as they were the only ones who had stock of the fully tooled-up version at the time, that's around £160 now ??? In for a penny, in for a pound. In for £100+, in for £10+. To be fair, I'll use it for one round of detergent cleaning and the rest will be plain water, the main reason I chose the Vax was because it had the option to add detergent, other steam cleaners are water only and in some cases, you really do need need both. Stars for the extra cleaning power, definitely not for the price, that is robbery, and knocks stars off! PS. Have found it a lot cheaper elsewhere since then - best to shop around ;)

I'd been using a non branded solution in my steam mop and it started to leave my laminate floors very slippery so I ordered this one and on first application the floors are all back to normal. I will now only use this as it does smell nice too and doesn't leave any stickiness or residue on the floors, actually felt clean to touch and look at.

I like this very much, however I do have a couple of issues that have dropped the rating to 4*. Firstly when I use this to clean my floors with the steam mop you do notice the difference in cleaning compared to just water alone but the floors don't stay cleaner for any longer after use! I would say this should be used every so often for a boost in cleaning power not an every clean accessory! 2nd for the price it doesn't seem to last that long before the bottle is running empty if I go by the fill marking on my vax steam mop, and I don't feel the cost of it warrants being used every single time I clean. In summary, yes I like it. Yes it works well in its cleaning power but for the price and how long a bottle lasts, I would recommend using it occasionly not all the time. But still a very good product and because of that 4*

Très bien pour balais vapeur avec réservoir pour détergent. Ne mousse pas. Odeur très légère voir peut-être même trop pour le coup!
