I've got a lay z spa miami and have never used one before. how many tablets do i put in the dispenser before i use it and how long do i have to wait?

Hiya again, sorry I forgot to say when you brought your Lazy did they recommend you put in Chlorine Shock granules, (around £10 a litre) very good idea from filling up using a hose pipe as they can be full of little Gremlins? And depending on your water area, disolve about half egg cup in a beaker and run pumps a couple of times while your water heats up but Do Not use Lazy for a good 4 hours it is powerful stuff and will cause skin rash, I put ours in every fortnight last thing at night so all gone by morning, then put in the multifunction tablet, you may be as well buying a pack of pH strips, ( not something manufacturer recommend but cut them length way with sharp scissors and they last twice as long, 50 now becomes a 100, something else manufacturer won't like you to do but you may notice after a few days you may start to get foaming,(body deodorant and such causes the foam) buy anti/no foam and dilute 50/50 as this is very gloopy liquid and will clog up your filter, still need to hose filter weekly or longer but if it's full of no foam, no multifunction tablet on Earth will keep your water clear, a cap full will dispense of the foam with pump on, every few days when your in the water give it a wipe down inside with a cotton kitchen towel otherwise sedament forms on the walls, enjoy looking up at the stars  with a glass of wine 🥂

How many tablets do you use for 4 person hot tub?

Accepted Answer

You will need to have "balanced" your pool water before using any form of chlorine tablets.   
If you are unsure we recommend looking online about water balancing as this is the first thing you need to do for safe bathing.
Once balanced you will need a floating dispenser and open the flow settings on full.
Please 2-3 x chlorine tablets in the floater which should dissolve in the water slowly over anything from 3-7 days depending on water conditions and flow settings.   
Monitor the chlorine levels in the pool with a test kit and then adjust the flow accordingly until you notice a "constant" level,   once this is achieved it would be as simple as replacing the tablets every few days once getting low.

I have a 10ft pool in the garden that weve had up a week and has algea in it. Would these work to disinfect the algea or would i need to empty and ref

Good day to you,  If you already have a Algae build it then it would be recommended to empty and clean the pool,  whilst these tablets would prevent algae there is no guarantee they would remove algae that is already present depending of severity,  it may work, but ideally you are best off draining, cleaning and then after you have "balanced" the water then use these tablets in a floater to keep the water crystal clear.
