Ancol Self Heating Pet Pad Small, Cream, 48 x 38 cm

Brilliant, but simple product made up of a layer of cosy mock 'sheep fleece feel' material outer top side, with a thinner material underside and zip fastening the length of pad that houses the thin foil inner. Despite loud 'crinkling' noise when cats get on or move around on their pads - due to foil inner - it doesn't seem to have put them off, as all pads are all in constant use 24/7 - winter through to summer! Also placed in feral cat's (long-hair) 'outdoor' cat shelter, which has kept her warm despite -8 winter weather (she refuses to come inside). The outdoor pads have taken a battering with feral's muddy, wet body & paws & continual outdoor lifestyle, but are still in a good condition & being used one year later after repeated washing of covers. Indoors, cats love them - even with central heating on. Do not feel unduly warm when felt with human hand, but obviously warm enough for cats with fur - long and short. Gives a cosy, extra bedding or snoozing layer. Lightweight, easy to wash on a gentle heat and a reasurring, easy to pack & carry 'security blanket' reminder of home to use for when cats go to bording kennels.

Both of my cats wanted to submit reviews but they're too busy sleeping on their mats to bother so they asked me to pass on their observances: Ty says: I'm Siamese and 7 years old. I made my master place the mat on the wicker chair in the conservatory where I catch the rays in the morning. It's on top of my favourite cushion but I don't care because the pad is like lying on a sunbed, it's that warm. It's also soft and cosy and I don't mind the rustling noise from the foil inside because I'm used to the noise the wicker chair makes anyway. Once I've trained my master to bring me Tequilas too my life will be complete. Smokey says: I like to chill on my master's bed because his lap is too small for me to fit on now. I am NOT fat, just big boned, and anyway it's scientifically proven that masters shrink with age. The mat allows me to curl up in the middle of it and still gives me a good 10cm all round so that if I get too hot I can easily stretch out a bit more. I even go belly up sometimes and lie on my back when nobody's looking. I have my street-moggy reputation to think about. Me: I ordered these with Super-Saver delivery and they arrived in a couple of days, large box as the mats come in individual boxes which are also quite large. I can see why they're a #1 seller and would recommend them to ANY cat owner with 99% confidence, there'll always be that 1% of cats that you can't please no matter what you try. I haven't owned dogs in years but if I did I'd certainly give the large sizes a go too. This medium sized one would be enough for anything around the size of a Yorkshire Terrier. Easy 5 stars from me, delighted.

I got this as a Christmas present for my Parsons Jack Russell cross. It can get cold where I live and the dog seems to get chilly at times, so I thought a heat reflective blanket would be a good idea. I think it must work, as with the weather having turned cold, the dog curls up on his blanket. When the temperature rises he moves off, either partly or wholly. The blanket is on the thin side. The fleece on the cover seems good quality, but the backing is very flimsy and I wait to see if it will tear. The inside is just the reflecting bit. I wish it was a slightly larger size as this is a little small for my dog. In my opinion it's suitable for cats or very small dogs

This is oddly crinkly, but the cats seem to like it. The heat-reflecting part, similar to that silver foil stuff they wrap athletes in after a race, is inside a zipped, washable cover; I haven't tried washing the cover yet, I don't forsee any problems but can't comment on durability. One odd thing is that ours seems to reflect the heat through the "wrong" side - almost as if the reflective bit is facing the wrong way - but I daresay we could experiment with turning it over. While showing it to the cats I had it on my lap with the furry side upwards and my legs were getting awfully warm! It might even be nice for human feet at the bottom of the bed in winter .... In all I think it's rather expensive for what it is, but the cats like it so I might even buy another.

Great price as this is twice as expensive in certain pet shops - Slightly smaller than expected but perfect for small dogs & fits in his bed well. My dog loves it & was perfect to take camping with us

Bought this to.line the cage under the guinea pigs' wooden hidey. They love it and keeps thrm toasty. Washes beautifully and absorbs the urine well. The liner is not crincly which is a bonus for guinea pigs as they dislike noisy bedding 😆Very happy with these and would highly recommend it!

My cat loves it. Always fits on it on the rug. Aldi put one on his favorite armchair. Easy to clean it.

A standard (US size) bed pillow will fit inside, too.

Bien moelleux sans être trop épais, bien chaud, facile à entretenir (fermeture éclair), le revêtement intérieur ne fait quasiment pas de bruit métallique, pas de quoi faire fuir un chat en tout cas. Nos chats d'intérieur l'ont tout de suite adopté, pas de bol : - c'est pas pour eux ! Die Matte hält genau was sie verspricht! Ich habe sie meinem kleinen Hund gekauft damit er jetzt im Winter während der Autofahren und kurze Zeit alleine im Auto ohne Heizung im Auto warten kann und nicht friert. Die Matte ist dünn und hat eine weiche Oberfläche, durch den Reißverschluss ist sie waschbare und das innere (eine Art aludecke) kann entnommen werden. Mein Hund liebt die Unterlage und wir haben sie schon ausgiebig getestet und Ronja hat es sehr schön warm um Auto. Die Unterlage reflektiert die Körperwärme und kann somit nicht zu heiß werden, sorgt aber trotzdessen für eine wohlige Wärme ( ich habe mich auch schon drauf gesetzt um mir im Auto den Po beim warten zu wärmen)
