Good product and can stay warm throughout the night. It is very hard and needs to be placed under substantial bedding. Easy to heat. Unfortunately it does not fit through the front circle opening of cube cat beds. Shame they do not make a smaller version.

I bought this for a stray cat who I've started to look after. He sleeps outside in an insulated cat house, but I was worried about him in the cold weather. He loves this heat pad!! He sleeps on top of it every night. And it keeps his house nice and warm all night. It stays hot for hours, even outside. It's quite hard, so I wasn't sure if he'd like it, but he loves it. The cover is easy to remove and wash. And because there's no electricity involved, I feel safe leaving it in his bed at night. The pad itself gets quite hot, but inside the cover it's a nice temperature. You'd definitely need to use the cover with it.

I use these for my two guinea pigs. They work really well, and really do seem to last as long as advertised. Best way to use this I've found is to heat it to the full temperature and then put underneath the newspaper, bedding and hay - that way it keeps warmer for longer, and the pigs will be happy to sit on it and keep nice and warm. I use this together with a animal dome/pigloo that helps trap the heat better. So far I've had my piggies out in -1C/30F and they've still been nice and toasty. Don't make the mistake of heating these up and then just sticking them in the hutch. Because the heatmap itself is very firm, the guinea pigs won't sleep on it. And because the cover insulates so much of the heat, it won't do a very good job itself of keeping the hutch warm. I haven't tried not using the fleece cover. The warming pad is VERY hot when you take it out of the microwave, and could easily burn the little piggies if they touched it without the cover. If you are going to keep the cover off, make sure the heatmap is covered by something else!

Bought these for my cattery for a couple of older cats that like to sit on a heat pad. I bought these in preference to a slightly cheaper version because I knew these work well with no problems. Easy to shove in a microwave and pop back in their cover. Stay warm for a very long time. Pleased with purchase.

As I was getting a new Golden Retriever puppy in November, I worried about how best to keep her bed warm as I felt she would miss the warmth of her mother and siblings. An Internet search brought up the 'Snugglesafe' Microwaveable heat pad but you don't always get all the information you need from product details so I mentioned it to the Breeder and she told me she found it an invaluable product for her whelping boxes. I also asked my own vet about it and she also agreed it was a great product so I ordered one. When it arrived I was surprised at how hard it was (I don't know what I expected, something similar to a wheat bag, perhaps) but as the puppy's bed was made of a thick furry and padded material, I didn't worry. You microwave it for six minutes and let it stand for one minute before placing it under the bedding. It doesn't get hot, just pleasantly warm but the best thing about it is, it is still warm EIGHT hours later. I feel that the combination of the 'Snugglesafe' and the comfortable bed helped Abbie settle into her new home much more quickly than she might have otherwise done as she was snug and warm in bed so slept all night. I would highly recommend this product to anyone getting a new puppy, especially in winter, but it is very hard so I would recommend thick, soft bedding to accompany it. But it is an excellent product and well worth the money if it keeps your puppy warm in its bed.
