Philips myGarden Arbour LED Outdoor Wall Light with Motion Sensor [Anthracite] 1 x 6 W Integrated LED Light, For Garden and Patio Lighting

Got this light when on offer at Amazon for £42 earlier this week. It will match the 3 Arbour (non PIR) lights I purchased last week. All 4 lights were to replace old rusting wall lights around the house. Installation was easy. Each installation took no more than 30 mins from starting to remove the old lights to the new Arbour light being ready to use. To be honest it was probably only 1 hours work to install the first 3 and 25mins for this PIR light as it was in a slightly more difficult place. First drill 4 pilot holes in the plastic wall plate and then use these pilot holes to mark the position of the holes you need to drill in the brickwork. I also used a small spirit level to ensure these markers would allow the light to be istalled upright! The Anthracite is virtually black and with our black woodwork it does not look out of place. Don't be put off by the lightweight feel of these lights. They look really good and are quite discrete too. Originally we bought cheaper lights at DunElm - as the saying goes 'what a mistaker to make'! - they were a nightmare to put up and once up two didnt work, so they were all returned for a refund. These Philips light look great and if you can get the non PIR for the low £30s and the PIR for the low £40s I can thoroughly recommend them.

These were bought to replace some of the same. The grey outer cover is peeling but they have lasted 8 years. Of the 3 I have, one stopped working and was quickly replaced without drama by Phillips who were excellent. I could just swap over the covers as the internals and sensors still work as new. Easy to recommend.

Installed it 2 weeks ago and it worked for a week but now it just stays on all of the time and will not go off! Tried everything. Want a refund or a new one sent out. Although can see that there are quite a lot with the same issue reported so must be a standard fault with the sensor.

Looks great and easy to fit. The bulb is unfortunately non-replacable though which is a shame but as it's high quality LEDs they should last many years. My only issue is there is no way to adjust range sensitivity. I've had to stick some black tape over the top half of the PIR just so it doesn't light up when a cat runs across the road 3 miles away (that may be an exaggeration). Unless you are placing it facing a wall or an big area that will only get movement when someone is coming to the door it's lighting up, it'll be too much.

Works well. Gives off a nice warm-white tone, and the sensor is adjustable.

I ended up purchasing this product from another shop as Amazon failed to deliver. They were great at refunding me and rectifying the situation though. Due to time constraints having booked the electrician had to get the item immediately which cost slightly more than Amazon. The lights look great and are significantly brighter than we had anticipated. We were advised they were quick and easy to install. they seem very sturdy and Philips quality reassures us. I would highly recommend to anyone. Also they will save a fortune on electric bills being LED and very environmentally friendly which is a major plus.

Let's get the negative out of the way first. So this light does not have the functionality of a manual overide. What I mean by that is the ability to overide the PIR and set the light to remain on permanently. Most PIR lights have this feature which is enabled by flicking the light switch on and off, the Philips however does not. Had I known this I would not have purchased. On the positive side, the style of the unit is pleasing and the PIR sensor works very well. The light spectrum is a warm white and bright enough to light the front of the house without being intrusive to the neighbours.

Before drilling any mounting holes, ensure that there is enough cable to enable the light to be situated where you want it and the power is off I.e if the cable is not long enough it will make fitting/wiring the light difficult, and you may end up compromising where you want the light. Next ensure that the light is level and drill 1 of the top holes using the removable back plate (lighting unit)as your template. Fix the back plate (lighting unit)with a wallplug and screw into the hole that you have just drilled. NB Ensure that you have threaded the cable from the wall through the supplied grommet and you are able to connect the wires to the appropriate terminals inside the back plate/lighting unit. After you are satisfied that the back plate (lighting unit)is level, drill another hole in the bottom opposite corner of the first hole that you have drilled and insert another wallplug and screw. Once you are completely happy drill the last 2 holes and insert the wallplugs and screws. Finally connect the wires from the wall cable to the terminal block inside the light unit (these are clearly marked) and fix the light unit cover to the back plate All screws and wall plugs are supplied with this light. Next switch the power on. Worth noting that it is much easier to set the sensitivity, dawn/dusk and timer when daylight is fading. Just to clarify that the back plate/lighting unit are the same thing .

Mit diesen Wandleuchten bin ich sehr zufrieden. Ich habe 2 gekauft für meine Terrasse. Sie leuchten sehr hell und der Bewegungserkenner ist auch total super denn die schalten sich schon von weitem ein. Optisch sind sie ebenfalls edel.

Mooie energiezuinige moderne lamp. In te stellen voor detectie licht/donker en de tijd (hoe lang de lamp aan blijft als er geen detectie meer wordt waargenomen). De lamp is niet goedkoop maar bij aankoop gedurende een aanbieding is hij betaalbaar. De tijd is een beetje moeilijk te doseren maar ja het komt niet op een seconden.
