Great quality & durable

This is a good quality nonstick pan and it looks nice. Its special feature is that it is shaped just like the traditional tawa, i.e., it's not flat but slightly concave. Rotis are easy to cook on this. However, it has one fault: the handle is slightly heavier than the cooking surface. So, it takes a bit of balancing for it to sit nicely on my gas hob. Other than that, this is a good pan to have.

I have had a couple of tavas (chapatti pans) over the past twenty years and they all been from India or bought here in Indian shops. I was getting fed up of blackened tavas that were then causing my chappattis to stick or burn. This Tefal tava is really good, my chappatis have not stuck at all and have been evenly cooked. I've used it to also make parathas with oil, and the tava has been easy to clean afterwards. I'm hoping it stays looking and cooking well. I will update the review if it does not last well. I have read that other reviewers are finding that the pan moves about, or doesn't fit their hob properly. I think if you have large gas ring it fits okay, I tried it on smaller rings and it does fit but is less stable and can be moved easily by just touching it. I have added two photos below of how it sits on my gas hob on the large central gas ring and a smaller one.

Do not buy this pan. It is extremely dangerous. The surface is slippery, causing your chapatti to slide off easily. It's also unstable, making it difficult to handle safely, and you risk burning your hand. I highly do not recommend it.

Well I gave 3 stars because of ‘imbalanced’ tawa pan on gas stove. The handle is heavier than tawa pan and it loses its balance but it quickly cooks rotis so thats y I am keeping it.
