Good quality beads with a sizeable hole and shoelace size strings with plastic coated ends on them which make it easier for kids to string them. Large size beads make it easy for small children to handle.Daughter was able to string them when she was 1.5 and easily by 2yrs old. Bought them as it's one of those developmental skills a 2 year old is meant to be able to do. Good for helping develop concentration skills. Now at 3 she still enjoys doing it as an occasional activity when nothing else to do.Definitely not for tiny babies, even with the holes in them.

Bought in advance of our health visitor review (son is nearly 2.5) to check his fine motor skills. Mainly he likes taking them out of the box and putting them back in, though he did do some threading, identification of shapes / colours etc.Good chunky beads with decent string. The box is good (why we bought these ones, we can contain the chaos) though the lid did fall off immediately when we picked it up by the handles.Recommended!

Lovely, bright wooden beads in various shapes. Laces are provided. Good quality. Ideal for many activities; imaginative play, (my granddaughter makes necklaces, snakes, decorates objects), numeracy: counting, grouping, sorting by colour or shape, matching, odd one out, more/less than etc. Aids hand/eye coordination and motor skills. more/ less than etc

I bought these for my 19 month old soon as he enjoys fine motor skill activities. For the price of them I didn't hold up much hope but I was really suprised! The container is great and sturdy for the beads to always be in, and the beads are a lovely quality of solid wood. The lacing threads are of lovely quality and are NOT the usual thin laces you often get. Overall these are a fantastic quality item and best of all, my son loves them!
