I’ve only had this a few days so can’t attest to durability etc but what’s immediately apparent is that it’s high quality with excellent functionality. Well designed and sturdy with great handles and a solid yet aesthetically pleasing feel, it’s larger width makes pouring liquid etc from a larger pot so much easier and It’s totally perforated design means it drains off superfast which is helpful at that moment when you’re juggling a steaming heavy pot etc! Its solid base ( with drainage holes in the ring that forms the base so it doesn’t trap water ) facilitates placing it in the kitchen sink so both hands are free to hold the pot etc. All in all this is a really well designed and well made item which has the functionality, feel, build quality and aesthetics you’d expect at a much higher price point. Having used it for a few days I love it. Probably the best collander that’s available and excellent value.

My family are used to buying colanders from the pound store, so when I told them I bought a colander for £16, they couldn't believe it. A few months later, after having used it, they love it and so do I. In fact, it's so nice I bought it three times! Twice for myself, once for a friend. This colander is perfect for my use-case: draining cooked rice. The holes are large enough to let the water drain quickly, but small enough to not let rice go through (well, a few grains here and there escape, but nothing more). I want to highlight the draining ports in the ring base as being of particular importance. With other colanders, water can sometimes be trapped either inside or outside the base of the colander, causing the water level to rise back up into the colander. With this colander and its draining ports, water can flow freely between the inside and the outside of the base, preventing water backing up into the food. The draining ports are so important that I honestly don't know why only this colander has them - they should be on every colander that has its own base! Word of caution - do not attempt to rinse uncooked rice in this colander. It's not designed for that. My brother made that mistake once; it did not go well for him and much laughter ensued. Stick to cooked rice and other larger foodstuffs.

I've been using this product for six years, and it's still as clean and sturdy as new. I just took it out of the dishwasher today and was reminded of its quality, so I wanted to leave a review. It always makes me happy to find such great products. I'd love to try other items from the same company.

Found it to be quite a sturdy product, well built, with solid handles, and thick metal. I found annoying the fact that rice grain tend to stuck on the ply of the base of the colander itself or between the base and the mesh, making it difficult to clean. In any case, if you are looking for a colander to sieve or wash uncooked rice, that's not the right product for you, since perforation is too large and let go through a good amount of product. Unfortunately I had to return it since not fit for my usage. It surely work well to drain large amounts of pasta or big vegetables like beans and lentils.

After browsing for quite some time to find a good colander, I eventually settled on this one. My previous colander has lasted me years but eventually the handles fell off and it became too awkward to use any more. This one is a step up from my old one and it feels quite light in weight. It is very well made and has a roughness to it that is really nice. It is not shiny but more a matte colour. I have used it a few times already and really like it very much. The handles are attached to the bowl in a secure manner and they are unlikely to come off. It is dishwasher safe as well as rustproof. The perforated holes are a good size for the water to drain off properly. It has a stand attached at the bottom so you can rest it on a counter top without fear of it falling over. I am very pleased with this colander and it is good quality. I received an email from the seller with 20 free complimentary recipes which was a lovely touch and I look forward to trying them out.

I actually purchased this to use as a sieve for my clumping cat litter and it works a treat. It is large, sturdy and the holes are small enough to catch rice sized pieces bit large enough to let couscous sized grains through. The only reason why the cleaning is not 5 stars is that by its very nature, when clumping litter comes into contact with liquid it congeals so around the base of the sieve I need to use a knife point to get the residue out - but this is a minor point on what is a great quality product. Stainless steel products are normally on the pricey size and this is a good weight. The price is fair in my opinion.

This colander/sieve has to rank amongst one of the best buys I've ever made. It's just a colander to drain fruit, veg or pasta you say. I say it's one of those items you never knew you needed and once you have it you'll never be without it. This particular colander is the one to get though. I was sceptical of the price but you get what you pay for. Live Fresh clearly are customer focused as they send you an email before it arrives and then you receive this light weight yet strong and simple yet cleverly designed colander. Really happy with it and just hope it stands the test of time and regular use.

This colander is a great size and nice and solid, The holes allow water out and there is a centre hole in the base so water doesn't rise back into the colander - ideal if you have just placed it in a sink.... Has had a few dish washer trips and has returned quite happy, but it is just as easily cleaned by hand. All stainless steel and no rust anywhere.
