Ronseal CKS125 125ml Colron Knotting Solution

This covers knots and keeps them sealed! My last tin has done my whole house over ten years and has only just ran out, ( mind you it would probably been nine years if I could have always got it opened first time!)

A little goes a long way. It seals knots to stop knots showing in your woodwork and prevents sap leakage that can blister your paintwork. Great idea having a little brush incorporated into the lid. Easy product to use. I only used about a quarter of the tin coving 1 metre high by 20 feet long to knot seal tongue and groove prior to painting (one application per knot). Time will tell if this has worked. I'll update this review if there are any issues.

It seems to have solved the weeping knot problem on our pine garden office, - not too smelly quite easy to use, apart from the attached brush attached to the lid which was a bit silly. Repainted a few hours later and it now there is no evidence of the previous problem. Happy with the product, does the job and goes a long way, - treated a 2M x 5M garden office and still have a half tin left.

This stuff is good covers and stops bleeding on the wood

I wished I had used this sealer BEFORE painting the unit I built. Even though I primed the wood the knots started to show through after a while which really annoyed me. After stripping it back I coated them with this, left it to dry over night and gave it a very slight rub back before priming and painting again. The solution was pretty easy to use, and was fairly runny but went on smoothly, and didn't need much rubbing back. I was wondering whether to give it two coats or not but read that lots of people just use one without any issues, so that what I dd. I used barely any covering the knots on the unit, so it looks like this tin will last ages as long as it doesn't dry up. I would recommend this, don't make the same mistake because its a lot more work the second time round!

I have used this for a long time on resinous knots in woodwork prior to painting. It appears to work well and certainly you see the effects if you don't use it. The brush in the lid is really useful and removes the need to clean brushes. One negative is that if you get any around the neck of the can and don't remove before putting the top on it sticks terribly and mole grips are required to remove it!

I know these types of products need a child safety lock, but the mechanism to open this tin was incredibly frustrating. You need more than one set of hands to push the lid down and another to keep the tin from rotating. Once you can open the tin , the products great. Not looking forward to trying to open the tin next time I decorate
