Hellsinki Headbangers Santa Cruz return with their feverishly anticipated eponymous sophomore platter. Hot on the heels of the success of their raging debut "Screaming For Adrenaline" and the leading hit singles for this album, "We Are The Ones To Fall" and "Wasted and Wounded" the band ups the ante, picks up the momentum and runs with it! Having caused a stir within the rock and metal scene with their first label effort "Screaming for Adrenaline", "Santa Cruz" is the platter that proves the band's growth, developed professionalism and undeniable staying power. Unlike its predecessor, "Santa Cruz" no longer reeks of the raw lightning-in-a-bottle-excitement that debut records from up-and-coming bands often do, but instead, the band now sounds better & ballsier and big enough to rock the arenas. There's no stopping Santa Cruz anymore!

Not the ones to fall
I have been a fan of these guys since the debut album (and even managed to track down a cheap copy of the debut EP) and was surprised when they released the single We are the ones to fall, so soon after it was released. What was also a surprise was although I liked the song, I did not love it. Then along came Wasted and wounded, which once again, did not excite me.So although I still planned on buying this album, I was not overly excited about the prospects of it.As soon as Bonafide heroes kicked in my opinion changed. What an absolute stonking album this is.Not only did the new songs I was unfamiliar with kick my butt, but the two songs I already knew actually took on a new life and I now love them. They have changed style somewhat from the debut with a heavier style kinda like Skid Row did back in the day, but the melodies are certainly still there.Aimin High is still my favourite song by them, but this album for me is far superior to the fantastic debut.

fantastic hard rock album!
yes, I must admit my first thought was 'oh no, another Dynazty, changed their sound, no melodies and NO songs! .." But I've stuck with it, read the good reviews over on rockreport.be, wondered what I was not getting..and then it clicked!.. Yep I got it wrong...... I'm now playing this one constantly. There are at least 5 genuine classics on this CD - you can add 'Remedy' and 'Babylon' and 'Let them Burn' to 'We are the Ones..' and 'Wasted..'. These last two tracks should be worldwide smash hits if there was any justice. This CD is nastier than A7F, more party than Crue with better guitars than Maiden and the swagger of Axl. ..and I have to say I love it...lyrics are a bit sweary in places and the riffs are simpler but cut through the sound likes shafts of steel. And there's some great melodies, especially 'Remedy' and 'Bye, Bye Babylon' with its 'ah, ah, ah..' chrous...Y'know, sometimes you just need to scream 'F@@K!! ' ..as loud as you can!!... ..well I do.. great CD!

Awesome follow-up album
Not quite as raw as their first album, but excellent songwriting and amazing musicianship (is that a word?). All of the tracks have stand-out sections. Hard rock done the way it should be. My favourite album this year - I must have listened to it at least 50 times!Go see them live; they are f***ing amazing.

This CD was a MUST!! I have seen the band twice now. Energetic tuneful rock!! They are very talented and I'm sure will be the next BIG rock band. I plan to go on the whole UK tour next time they gig here.

Awesome
Thats more like it. Santa Cruz come back sounding heavier, with fantastic riffs. First album was great, sounding like early Skid Row. This album is in your face from the opening track. Awesome.
