STANLEY Toolbox Tote with Portable Organiser for Tools and Small Parts, Heavy Duty Metal Latch, Removable Dividers, 24 inch, 1-97-514

Wasn't sure i'd like this tool box at first as it is a large base box with a removable top box / lid. I use the box at work (I'm a maintenance Engineer repairing machines all day) and have found the box the best I've had in 20 years. Can carry larger tools in the base i.e. larger spanner, stilsons, hacksaws, multi-meter etc etc. Then put smaller tools / parts in the component tray lid. i.e allen keys, adjustable spanners, pipe wrench, tap wrenches etc. There are removable tray dividers that can be taken out so to semi-customize the component tray lid. I have mine on a trolley, as when full of tools can be quite heavy and I have a large site I have to get round all day. If just carrying for short period of time when fully loaded the handle is comfortable and feels quite robust. Had mine 6 months now and no problems, will get another when this one needs replacing (which looks like a long time off)

Perfect size for all my tools. And the small sections on top are just right for nuts, bolts, washers and other small items. Top tray clips are very strong, so no chance of them spilling contents everywhere when you take it off main box. That is deep enough for large amount of ring and open ended spanners. But do not overload as it gets very heavy and then becomes awkward to carry. I am very pleased with purchase. A good buy. And very well made.

I can get to my smaller tools and see where they are through the lid on the top box. Also able to remove the top box complete if the bottom box not required. Would recommend.

Fed up with the cheap Ikea plastic box I had been using for my tools but was simply not strong enough, I decided to get a proper toolbox so spent quite some time researching. I was looking for something large enough to take my 20" saw and all my tools, but not so big that it'd be a pain to carry around. This seemed perfect, especially with the rave reviews it's got here on Amazon. I've just been moving my tools over to it and am mildly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, it's great for 20 quid, but you do pay for what you get. The plastics feel cheap, and although the main body will probably stand up to mild abuse the transparent lid feels a bit brittle. I doubt it'd survive a small hammer being dropped on it. The removable lid-box, a very clever idea, is hamstrung by being cluttered up by too many compartments. Granted, dividers can be removed to make the compartments larger, but I had been hoping to put my ratchet screwdriver box set in the lid for easy access & transport - not possible because no one compartment is large enough. The compartments are useful, but I don't see the need for so many - they're not really small enough for screws, but they're not really big enough for many tools, and the organiser unit is anyway shallow enough for tools not to get lost in it. A few compartments are useful but this many is restrictive. The space in the bottom is a bit disappointing too. It could really have done with being at least 5cm deeper. I can get all of my important tools in but I've had to leave out larger rarely-used items such as my tile grouting trowel, etc. I had hoped I'd be able to fit my torque wrench and socket set for removing car wheels in it but I'm not hopeful (it's in the shed at the moment - I'll go out to get it when the garden isn't soaking wet). It's unfair to blame my mild disappointment on the product - the fault is partly mine for assuming that since other reviewers were saying they were able to fit ALL their tools in it, that I would too. These people simply can't have a comprehensive set of tools - if you're a keen DIYer like myself with tools for car maintenance, bike maintenance, plumbing, kitchen work not to mention general screwdrivers & drill bits etc, this box won't be big enough for you. You'll either need something bigger or a second toolbox. If you're a professional, the box probably isn't sturdy enough to stand up to being thrown around in the back of a van. In fairness, this is probably the best toolbox for the price. I'd happily have paid twice as much for a bit more space and slightly better quality. In fact, Stanley would do well to release other toolboxes based on this design but in different sizes and for different purposes.

When the toolbox first arrived I thought I had made a mistake with the size, the item is certainly substantial and I did have doubts that I would manage to use all of the available space.However I am glad that I made the choice of this size toolbox as it soon filled up with my modest tool collection. The product is robust,well designed and manufactured to a standard that would easily withstand heavy use. The good points are the detachable top section which is activated with a push release button, good sturdy fastenings and a handle that gives confidendce to handle heavy lifts. I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

The box is very well made with good detail touches. BUT it is not as in the picture. The product arrived with the large lower section and the clear lidded small parts section only. If the item shown in the picture had arrived, I would definitely award this 5 stars due to its quality of manufacture. I'm now ringing customer services..... Update....I've now been informed that this is a batch problem and is not a one off. The picture is still on display and in my view is deceptive and should be removed. I have been offered a refund (to Amazons credit) but it's a shame as I like the box. If you have recieved a box in this condition ensure you let them know. Further update..... Picture now showing the item i recieved. Now up'd my star rating as this box is very well made and carries all my electrical tools/equipment. I particularly like the lid ridges, which prevent small parts wandering around the box.

This is a large size toolbox at 24 inches but very strong. I would buy again as it does its job very well.

Excellent value for money, it is very sturdy and fairly large, so you can put a lot of stuff inside. The box itself is quite heavy, so it will be even heavier when you add all your tools. The only issue I have with it is that if you want to quickly get something from the main compartment the whole top pretty much has to come off instead of you just being able to prop it open, unless the item is quite small.

Hammerhart toller Werkzeugkoffer. Einfach, aber genial durchdacht. Man kann den ganzen Koffer mit vielen Werkzeugen vollladen und dann kommt oben quasi ein zweiter Werkzeugkoffer, bzw. -deckel oben drauf. Da sind die ganzen Fächer für Düber, Schrauben usw. Mit einem Druck auf den gelben Knopf, kann man das obere Teil vom unteren lösen und abnehmen. Es ist also nicht der klassische Koffer, den man nach oben aufklappt, sondern zwei separate Teile. Den oberen Teil, den kann man dann aufklappen. Dabei bin ich sehr erfreut darüber, dass der Verschluß nicht aus Plastik ist, da das meistens schnell den Geist aufgibt, sondern aus Metall. Man merkt gelich, das hält lange, das ist alles massiv und wirkt professionell. Und das bei diesem günstigen Preis. Was einem klar sein sollte: Das ist ein Riesen-Trümmer. Viel Größer als die herkömmlichen Werkzeugkoffer. Ich finde, das ist ein Koffer für zu Hause, in dem man viel verstauen kann. Möchte man häufig den Koffer herumtragen, also zur Freundin, der man was reparieren soll oder in einem großen Haus die Treppen hoch und runter, dann würde ich lieber einen kleineren Koffer nehmen.

Uso doméstico y de gran capacidad. Permite agarrarla y transportarla por un asa anclada a la base. La gran mayoría de cajas de herramientas en este rango de precio posee el asa anclada a la tapa superior, donde se suelen encontrar los cierres de la tapa. En mi opinión, este detalle es una gran ventaja de esta caja ya que se evita que los cierres se vean forzados toda vez que agarremos y transportemos la caja y todo su peso. También decir que, en cuanto a capacidad, todo aquel que esté dudando entre este modelo (24") o el anterior (19"), en mi opinión el modelo de 24" es la elección acertada; ya que se gana en algo más de capacidad y el tamaño del conjunto es prácticamente el mismo. Eso sí, todo aquel que desee adaptar la caja al sistema modular "Rolling Workshop" (artículo no. 1-79-206) no podrá hacerlo con este modelo y sí con el de menor capacidad de 19". La calidad de materiales es muy buena, cierres robustos, agarre del asa de material aluminio y ejes de bisagras de metal; en mi opinión el material más flojo lo observo en la tapa superior transparente, aunque todo el plástico de la caja (incluida la tapa transparente) es grueso. Por lo demás la caja podría tener algo más de altura y anchura en su base, pero para uso doméstico va sobrado y posee gran capacidad.
