Wilton 3D Book Cake Tin, Large, Aluminium, 38.1 x 29.2 x 6.9 cm (15 x 11.5 x 2.75 in), 2105-2521

This cake tin is large and perfect if you are baking for a crowd. I used if for making carrot cake and doubled my normal recipe (which if for a round cake tin with a diameter of 26 cm). I lined the cake tin with baking parchment and it was no problem getting the cake out of the mould. If you are after a book shaped cake tin, this is a good choice.

Perfect baking tin

This big tin takes what I would call 3 times an average Victoria Sponge sandwich mixture. It makes a large cake in the shape of an open book. I used a product that makes it easier to remove cakes from tins and the book-sponge turned out unscathed. It was evenly cooked, evenly risen and took about twice as long to bake as 8-inch diameter deep sponge would. The size makes it a little unwieldy so you need a steady hand an a secure base for your turntable when icing but it's a great size for a big celebration. I normally bake sponges, carve and build them into various shapes. This tin makes a lovely book. My only reason for 4 not 5 stars is that the tin is thin; there's already a small dent in the rim. So treat it carefully. There was a thicker one on Amazon but it was much more expensive but it did have ledges to represent pages.. This works well an you can pipe the page edges when the cake is baked. Happy book cake baking!

Cake looks exactly like a book, a little hard to work out what size mix to use and how to cook it evenly, but ended result was great and non-stick was good

Good shape. It is thin so take care storing it. Instructions are not helpful for uk about how much cake mix to make. (States 14 & 1/2 cups batter) it’s roughly like a 12 or 13” square tin so Vic sponge would be 16 eggs, 2lbs flour, sugar, butter Etc .

Not what I was expecting, not deep at all to make a book cake. I had to return

Absolutely perfect! Not wanting to take any chances, I sprayed the tin with one cal cooking spray and lined with baking parchment. - Cake came out in one perfect moulded shape no problem at all. Cake served approximately 30-35 people. Tin arrived extremely well packaged and without ant any damage/dents at all. Very impressed!

Perfect for my birthday book club party! Excuse the writing. My original idea failed & I had to improvise. I used 3 Duncan Hines strawberry box cake mixes & I think I baked it at 400 degrees for 1 hour. It turned out great!
