William Hopkins BX400CSK Robin Replacement Roller for Toilet Roll Holder, Chrome

Purchased after returning other holders with spindles that were too wide for the wall holder, who knew it wasn't a universal size?! After a little research for narrower toilet roll holder spindles, this is the only one! Not metal, rather plastic coated in silver, and a bit flimsy, but does the job. Looks nicer than the old yellow plastic one it's replacing.

Easy installation, delivered quickly. Good value for money, very sturdy and works well.

Purchased for an elderly friend, she had a lovely toilet roll holder but the centre had broken , this was a cheap but efficient replacement

Don't waste your money. The spring doesn't have the strength of a geriatric gnat. Bar collapses in the holder. At least it's cheap enough to be not worth returning; it's now in the bin.

Like so many other reviewers, I had struggled for ages to find a replacement spindle to fit an aging 13cm toilet roll holder which required a 5mm conical end-pit. Unobtainable. This item appeared, and is perfect. It's as sturdy as its long-serving broken predecessor and looks very good. Of course it's a cheap bit of silvered plastic with a spring inside, but provided you treat it with a little respect it does exactly what is required.

I searched high and low for a replacement spindle that would fit my cast metal loo roll holder after my builders inadvertently binned the old one, not realising that I wanted to reuse it. I ordered and returned two spindles that stated that the end bits where they go into the small locating holes in the holder were less than 5mm - all lies! Neither could be shaved down either, as the end pieces were hollow (like s straw) and would have become two weak. This one has quite stubby but pointy ends and a good spring tension which works well. Minus one point as it has a tendency to disassemble itself (the strong spring springs the two halves apart) when changing the loo roll but this is a minor annoyance and easily fixed.
