Good Settlement Media
Fantastic filter media to be used as a settlement media, like a pre filter. I have the Fluval FX4 filter and I use this in the very base edges of the bucket. No media is meant to go in there but this is the area where water flows first therefore it catches the largest of detritus and prevents the foams from becoming clogged up so quickly. Highly recommended. I would suggest this is better than the plastic stuff. However, do remember that this is smooth ceramic it does not serve as bio media at all and should be used in conjunction with bio media also.

Not for biological filtration!
Great for pre-filtering. Sponges no longer clog up as this pre-filter tramps most of the particles. Easy to clean, hard wearing by the looks of it.

As described
Using these in an All Pond Solutions filter. They do the job just as described. Cannot comment on longevity yet.

Not the best but ok
Not bad but not that good like the old rings, Used to be alot more porus as it used to be this stuff seems alot smoother , it does work but i think there are better medias on the market.

The stuff is original and still works perfectly. I bought this to replace my Mechpro came with Pro 4+ 600 canister. Mechpro is made of plastic. In a few years it disintegrated into very small pieces and rendered useless as mechanical filter media. The ceramic ring should last forever. Just a side note that 1L is only enough to fill 1 pro series media tray. I would have bought the 5L package if I knew that ahead because Pro4+ 600 used 2 mechanical media trays.
